not bad... I wonder what the pay is though, and what the upgrade to ME is?

website says 1200TT... I know most 135 ops look for this (like airnet etc) but man, someone with 1200 is not going to bother with this. and the ones that do are not going to be enough to keep a good flow of pilots, I don't get how they do this

ALL 135 ops look for 1200.

And...I'd do it.

From the post . . . "Salary range 85/day"

You say things to this effect alot. Tell me why somebody with 1200 hours won't bother with this? There are LOTS of pilots with 135 mins that choose to fly freight - some for a little while, and some to bypass the airlines completely.

I can't speak for him, but the industry was doing pretty well when I started flying freight. I still decided to fly freight.

Taseal - you've been around long enough now to know plenty of 135 freight pilots frequent JC. It's starting to get a little insulting.

sorry guys.... I should keep my opinions to myself.

Not everyone needs to think like me, I also shouldn't be speaking for others.

I'm sorry if I insulted anyone, i will refrain from saying such things again

sorry.

Re-reading this post did you mean someone with 1200 hours will not bother with the job listed, or freight in general?

If it was the former, I apologize and jumped on you too quickly, because I agree - the job doesn't look that great.

$85/ day for what looks like 12+ hours of duty ain't good. And you're right - how long to get into a ME - and how long does a junior guy fly a 172?

A 1200 hour pilot is going to get better pay & equipment at places like Amflight, FLX, or Airnet.

yeah I missed the price, that is why I mentioned this. sort of.

if you were to do a 10 hour shift @ 85 bux an hour, you are flying for roughly 8 dollars an hour.

Or, you got 40 bux an hour for two hours of flying, a place to stay and a car to drive. It all depends on how you look at it.

I don't look at it that way. I know plenty don't mind the fly out - all day sit - fly home routes, but to me, time I'm required to spend away from home = work. I know places like Amflight puts them up in a hotel for their sit though, which is pretty cool. They give them a car, too?

I suppose for the single people that wouldn't be a bad deal.

At any rate, assuming the above job flies 5 days a week, the salary is looking like 22,100/ year.
