Default Scenic Airlines. Las Vegas-ish, NV

Just thought I'd throw this one out there, since I've been hearing a lot lately. They're based in Boulder City, NV (61B). Pay special attention to the times for FO in the Twin Otter.

http://www.scenicops.com/scenicpilot/

Scenic Airlines is currently accepting applications from pilotswith the following qualifications:

DHC-6-300 Captain
  • Airline Transport Pilot
  • Multi-Engine Land
  • Airplane
  • Current First Class Medical
  • 2500 TT
  • 1000 PIC
  • 500 ME PIC
  • IFR Current
  • DHC-6 or other Turboprop preferred
  • US citizen or permanent work visa
C-402 Captain:
  • Airline Transport Pilot
  • Multi-Engine Land
  • Airplane
  • Current First Class Medical
  • 1500 TT
  • 400 PIC
  • 100 ME PIC
  • IFR current
  • C-402 preferred
  • US citizen or permanent work visa
DHC-6-300 First Officer:
  • Commercial Pilot
  • Multi-Engine Land
  • Instrument
  • Airplane
  • Current First Class Medical
  • IFR current
  • At least 21 years of age
  • US citizen or permanent work visa

From their website under 'minimum requirements':

"Minimum flight time requirements to submit the application are 600 TT, 400 PIC, and 50 ME. Please do not apply unless your logbook shows that you meet the minimum qualifications as of the application date. If you are selected for interview, all times entered on the application will be verified against your logbook during the interview."

Does that mean that the mins for the DH-6 FO position are 600, 400, and 50, even though not posted under that position?

I caught that after posting. those were the previous mins, which were previously posted with the rest of the requirements. I'm thinking they just forgot to remove that.

I will investigate...

So are the minimums 600/50 or Commercial Multi?

thanks. You know anything about if they have an employment contract, what the pay is and how much hours you get?

It's not a "contract," it's an "agreement" whatever that means. It's pro-rated.

all that other stuff is on the website...go to the forum

It's hard to make any sense of their website. It's horribly outdated and full of conflicting information.

The date at the top of their site says, "Friday, June 8, 107." I think seven years is plenty of time to correct a Y2K bug, guys.

Anyone know what the pay is I can't find it anywhere. Is this still a 121 op or did they change to 135?
Thanks

The mighty Alarus is going away. SLCC is planning to "join forces" with UVSC, and this program is moving most likely moving to #2. Soon you could pick up an Alarus with a Garmin 430 and a Sandel EHSI for REALLY cheap. The young bucks here will be flying the Katanas, and dimond stars. Me I won't sign a 6 month contract just to get checked out in that thing, plus I have almost 1100 hours. So on ward and up word!!

I would absolutely love this job, the twin otter rocks. Only if I had my Comm ME. Hopefully this opportunity will still be there in 30-45 days.

This kind of job really appeals to me, but that pay is just so low. How hard is it to live out there on that amount?
