| Yep, a "cut & paste" would have been nice. No use registering unless I see a significant benefit towards doing so. http://www.sanjuanairlines.com/our-aircraft.cfm |

| Ive got a question to pose...And I'm not all for low time pilots either... But is it ok for a 500 hour pilot to fly 4 people around in a 206? But it's not ok to fly 19 around in a Beech 1900 with those times? I'm not trying to play devils advocate, but where do we draw the line? Does size of equipment matter that much? Again, not trying to start an argument, just asking... |

A Beech 1900 however is a commuter class, turbine, twin engine airplane that has an approach speed faster than the Cessna's cruise speed. Also flying into and out of very busy airspace in all manner of weather. I see a big difference.

| Ok, understood and agreed. Even after 500 more hours in a single engine Cessna 206, that pilot still has his majority of time in a ....Single Engine Cessna 206. Does this 500 hours make him that much more qualified? Here's my take. It's not about flight time, it's about..... Aeronautical Decision Making- and that I believe comes from instructing, not banner towing, pipeline patrol or even 206 hops. |

All of those jobs you listed above are single pilot PIC and all hands on flying. Communicating with ATC, making weather decisions, multi tasking. That won't help you?? I beg to differ on this one.

| And those 135 VFR mins mean Day VFR. No night, no shooting approaches to mins with paying pax in back (though I think you still need an instrument rating to go beyond 25 nm). I'd love to fly a 206 or 207, they look like fun. I've got about 140 hrs in 182s, how much of a step up is it? Anyone? Bueller? (Yes, DD, I'm interested in your gig....)

| It's not that big of a step, more of a good long stride. Have you been flying the RG? If so, a 206 is actually a tiny bit slower!

| As I understand it they lost their 135 certificate. I looked at a few of their chieftains with my boss. They were selling off all of the chieftains I think they are still doing the grand canyon thing 91. no more than 25 from page
