| Senior Member | Internation Flight Training Acadeny in Bakersfield, CA is desperately seeking new CFI's that they've dropped their minimums. I've posted this before but since they decided to drop their minimums, I've decided to post it yet again! Here's what their lil' flyer says: Immediate openings for 5 positions! IFTA offers an excellent salary of approximately $33,00 to 40,000 within the first year, Monday ~ Friday work schedule, paid holidays, relocation assistance, paid vacation, full medial, dental, vision, and life (paid by employer). ALL YOU NEED IS A CFII AND A 2ND CLASS MEDICAL! Don't forget to write down my name when applying - Miguel Puente ![]()

| More importantly, you burn a bridge and quite possibly a reference. This industry's too small for that!

| Senior Member | It's techincally a 2 year AGREEMENT meaning you can leave before the two years is up and you won't go to court for it (I think its illegal to have those types of contracts in CA). However, you will burn a pretty nice bridge.

| wow....sounds like you may end up in 'airplane jail' if you cut it short. I can't imagine what kind of binding agreement there could be for an indentured servitude. Anymore details would be appreciated. |

| Old Skool | Why, so you can bash those too? Either you like it or you don't.

There is nothing to like or not like here.....its a matter of knowing the details of what Miguel Puentes signed up for. If he doesnt know or care and I'm sure he can say it himself. | |

| it's still just as easy as saying "we will gladly offer FO/SO positions on the mainline metal with JAL or ANA upon successful completion of 2 years of flight instruction for our Japanese students, assuming JAL and ANAs hiring requirements don't significantly change in the future." the opportunity cost of a 2 yr commitment would be a lot different if it could lead to a JAL or ANA position. and it's quite fair to offer a job to the instructor who taught students who are getting that same job. |

| Agent Smith | I know when I was in the CFI biz, some of the larger, more established outfits weren't necessarily targeting CFI's that wanted to move on to the regionals quickly. I can't remember the name of the company up in Norcal, but they took a look at my age, my resume and figured that I was going to be audi 5000 whenever Westair called. Might be looking for professional CFI's. There are actually people that target being a CFI in a large flight training institution. If I were independently wealthy and didn't have a need to work, it'd be interesting.
