| I see that ASA is in need of pilots, flight attendants, and customer service reps. Do they ever hire for other positions, specifically dispatch? I have been checking for a year and a half and have never come across another position listed. Thanks for the info. |

| I think the majority of new hires will stay in Atlanta, but that depends on whether or nor LAX expands. |

| Old Skool | I doubt this type of conditions will maintain out to the spring of 08. What an opportunity though. Maybe I'll get lucky, and if not, I'll just keep busting my ass to get the 1000/100 requirements that I'm sure will be in place by next year (Spring - Summer of 08). The LAX commute would suck from Atlanta though. |

| Contract progress has been positive lately. It seems finally that the company is willing to get things settled. |

| Old Skool | That's good to hear. I edited the original post to keep it all positive, didn't want to bring any negative nancy stuff into the thread as this is really great news. |

| Old Skool | Yup. So Max. Should you end up getting on with ASA, you plan on commuting or are you praying the LAX base will still be around and you can be based there? Or are you planning on coming to the southeast - Atlanta area? |

I really liked Atlanta when I attended Tuskegee in 97. Same can't be said about the people/culture however. What I love about GA is the red clay. The fact that it is green, rains a plenty and they actually have seasons. All that aside it is dirt cheap living in comparison to the west coast. Perfect for that first year salary. So I want to be ATL based.

| Old Skool | Lol, yea. I hear the big thing in Peachtree is how big and shinny your golfcart is. Big status symbol apparently! |

| I might have to trade in my Harley upon arrival this Fall in Peachtree City for a nice flat black golfcart that is chromed out to the max. Oh man, I am going to hate Peachtree City since I'm so not going to fit in there. I need to live in Little Five Points or Decatur in Atlanta to enjoy a social life and chill in the evening listening to some good tunes. But that's way too far to commute. So I'll be stuck in Peachtree City... maybe Falcon will open up an operation closer to the city where I can live in LP5... that would be sweet. |

| Old Skool | Actually Maxie, in talks with Rausda, it seems my home town - Newnan - is the big ASA spot. Newnan is to ASA what PTC was to Delta. We are buying a home in Newnan this spring so, whenever things happen, just let me know. You still looking towards Falcon? Quote:
Adreamer, Yes, PTC has more miles of golf path than they do roads - golf carts are not the only ones who use it though, walkers, joggers, bike riders, they all share it. ![]()

Where is Newnan, and how far is it from Peachtree and Hartsfield/Jackson, cost of living low?

Tough decision. Bigger, newer home or a golf cart?

| Old Skool | lol - Exactly. Rausda, you happen to know where Mineral Springs subdivision is? I haven't been home since Christmas - and at that time, we weren't looking to buy. Came across a listing for a 3bd 2bth in that subdivision, but I can't find it on any maps. Just wondering. |

| Old Skool | Lol, I hate golf! Most boring sport on earth next to tennis! Newnan sounds attractive! |

| Dude, PTC is UBER expensive. Look to Newnan or even better, Fairburn, to be close to ATL, but in the lower rent district. My house was in Fairburn. MUCH cheaper than PTC, but on the same road and closer to ATL. My drive to the airport was literally under 10 minutes. And the property market is a buyer's dream right now, too, if you can come up with $2-3k to buy a house.
