Email sent to pilots: As you may or may not know, there is a $50 payback on those applicants that are hired as a result of your recommendations and their successful completion of a year of employment. If you have time, please visit www.skywest.com and take a look at our recruitment events that we have scheduled. We would love to see big numbers at those events. Again, thank you for all that you have done and continue to do in our hiring efforts. Have a great 2007! Camielle If hiring projections continue, there will be 3200+ pilots by the end of 2007. |

For some reason just this second, I started thinking about how the Germans had good expansion in 1941. Hmm, I wonder why I would think that about Skywest? |

Bravo! ATL should, and always will be ASA turf (no matter who owns ASA). . . not SKW. . .end of story.

I'm still waiting to hear the first "OH MY HECK" on ATL approach!

I really think that we would all enjoy our jobs SO much more if we just took a step back, realized that the job really is a good job, and quit complaining so much. I'm about ready to kill the next captain that complains non-stop for a 3 day trip.

ASA in LAX due to SKW contractual obligations. . . Yup, I follow you there. . . but you know what, SKW was in that contract before taking ASA on board. Now they have to deal with it. And that's fine and dandy. SKW is in ATL to send a message to pilots. . . I understand this as well. . . BUT. . . it's a ridiculous reason. To send a message to pilots, lets put a SKW schedule into ATL. Shows the type of leadership qualities that are running wreaklessly through the SKW system. Perhaps someone with a solid mind will realize what is going on and seek to drive change. Yes, I'm sure the job is a good job. But how much more are we willing to take in the industry until we realize that if we continue to say "...awe but it's still a good job. . . quit whining." we won't see any change towards the other way. . . of improving pay, improving QOL, improving work rules, improving everything that this industry was founded on. We need less individuals willing to run to the bottom, simply because "...it's still a really good job." |

Sorta like when one of the oldtimers says "Quit you're whining. I was only making $14 an hour in the Jetstream!" Then you point out that was like 1987 and show them what inflation has done.....

I wasn't being sarcastic when I said it was nice seeing ASA in lax. I'm glad something positive is happening over there. I"m not happy about your job being taken away like it has been. Theres enough flying out there for all of us.

About 2 months ago, I had the opportunity to talk with an ASA guy. I was on a turn in my base in PSP, and the ASA flight from SLC had arrived and was waiting to go back. While walking to the restroom thru the ramp, I noticed the FO standing around. I walked over and shook his hand and introduced myself. I basically wanted him to know that there still is good people at SKYW that is trying to change things. There was no formal communication between the two groups as of yet. I welcomed him into my jumpseat any day of the week. Asked him to pass the word along.
