TAKE FLIGHT WITH EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY

Positions are available for all levels of Flight Instructors. As a Flight Instructor with Embry-Riddle, you will have the opportunity to teach the largest pool of highly motivated college students in the country. Our Daytona Beach campus boasts year-round flying.

We are proud to offer a training fleet of 40 Cessna 172s (16 with G-1000 glass cockpits) 13 Piper Seminoles, 5 Piper Arrows, 1 Decathlon (for upset training) 10 general aviation level Six FTD/s with 220 degree visuals, and 1 level Six CRJ/200 with a 180 degree collimated display. (All aircraft equipped with ADS-B collision avoidance systems)

Embry-Riddle boasts one of the industry’s finest maintenance facilities with a fully computerized Parts Department, warranty programs, and excellent aircraft availability.

INSTRUCTOR PILOT COMPENSATION

Our total compensation and employment program for Instructor Pilots is the best in the industry.
Embry-Riddle offers a minimum of 27 paid/accrued leave days annually, a highly competitive wage base, and two comprehensive health insurance programs.

All full-time instructors (and spouses or domestic partners) are immediately eligible for a 100% tuition waiver for both undergraduate and graduate courses, and a 100% tuition waiver for undergraduate courses for dependent children, up to age 26.

Embry-Riddle will contribute 5% of the instructor’s earnings into one of two retirement programs. We will also match additional contributions up to 3%. These funds are fully vested after only one year of service.

Full pay for departmental meetings and directed non-flight activities. 100% uniform allowance.

Entry Level Wages:

IP Class. Hourly Wage

IP-2 $15.31

IP-3 $17.75

IP-4 $21.41

One of the charter pilots I knew when I worked at a local FBO instructed there after college and he loved it. He said back then he was flying all the time and built up time quickly.

I've been here for about 2 years now, and it really is one of the best CFI jobs around. Pay is hourly, but you will have a steady supply of work (900 new flight students enrolled next term). As long as the regionals are hiring, you can move up through the ranks fairly quickly (except when guys like myself just don't leave!). With the new Pt 142 courses, there is a LOT of multi work to be had. There is not so much "red tape" as there used to be either, and checkrides, scheduling, etc. runs more efficiently. As far as students being motivated...some are, some aren't, but that applies at any school. If anyone has more Q's, feel free to PM me.

I plan on doing the CFI/CFII fastrak next summer or possibly start if in the spring. Do you do that stuff or u all multi now?

Howdy S40,

Yeah, I'm a "Riddle FO"

I'm usually booked solid with multi students in the fall and spring, but this summer I've had mostly CFI/Comm single work, and flying with the kids for summer academy keeps me busy as well. We'll see where I end up by next summer...alot depends on how the Master's degree progresses. Best of luck.

Quick question: How hard would it be to get another degree (or at least take a few classes at a time) at Embry-Riddle while being a full timer? The tuition waiver sounds tempting. I'll be graduating college in May and I think it would be fun to pick up another degree while instructing. Aeronautical Engineering would be rewarding, but probably not possible while working I guess. Hopefully I could transfer credits and only have to take the core classes, which would cut down on time a bit. Thanks
