| Old Skool | Within the next two months my flight school might loose up to three of our full time CFIs. If there are any CFIs out there looking for work feel free to email me you resume and I will walk it in for you when there are openings. Can't guarantee anything but you never know what can happen! |

| If you kids read anywhere in my post that I begged, than your reading comprehension is wanting. I won't take a CFI job unless I can fly twins or get payed better than $ 20.00 per hour. I have a gig lined up which will give me multi turbo prop time, so why would I accept anything less than what I want. This gig is part time and I just turned down an offer for a CFI job because I was told that I can't work there and fly the turbo commander as well. Guess which one I chose. The two who responded are the reason our industry is in the shape it is in. Apparently your thoughts are who cares what the job pays, it's better than being unemployed. Well no it isn't sell outs. So in closing, if asking upfront what the job pays and intails so I have better knowledge to determine whether I waste my time is begging, than I am guilty as charged. |

[/ QUOTE ] Because, you know, the unemployed can be picky . . . [/ QUOTE ] Yes, the unemployed can be picky. Just because I am not working doesn't mean I can sell out and take the first thing that comes along. I can afford to be picky and take the job I want to take. I have stated in the previous post that I have reasons for asking for the details. For you to assume that I am not in the position to be picky is awful arrogant of you, don't you think! |

| Old Skool | Job would be in New Jersey (KBLM). Four 152s Two 172s Piper Warrior Piper Arrow Piper Seneca You COULD average 100 hours a month. Pay is on a scale depending how many hours you log per pay period. Bottom is 15 top is 22 an hour. The more you fly the higher the pay for the period. How many hours of multi time do you have in the Seneca and your total time? If you want to instruct in that plane you must meet the minimum or carry your own insurance. |

[/quote ] Are you telling me that in the future I should research what other people post in the past before I comment on their present post. I should consider what they have said in the past and ignore the response to a present relevent question. Please take the time and read his response to my question. He thinks I can't be picky about a job because I am currently unemployed. And as unemployed, I shouldn't ask relevent questions regarding pay, the location, the equipment, and the average hours. These are the questions anybody should ask before blindly applying for a position you know nothing about. You are also telling me that I should put up with someone who doesn't know me and passes judgement on my situation without my having recourse, I should just grow a thicker skin and eat it. You are talking to a man who was fired from a major flight school because I had a disagreement with the D.E. and believe me I won't change because you think I should have a thicker skin. I don't know you but since you gave me some advice, please accept my advice to you. I am not so sure that telling someone to go back and research a person's previous posts before you answer their present post is good advice. I would say that advice is a little retarded. Please know that I have not went back and researched your previous posts looking for other retarded responses, I am handling this based on what you are presently saying too me. |

| Old Skool | [ QUOTE ] He thinks I can't be picky about a job because I am currently unemployed. And as unemployed, I shouldn't ask relevent questions regarding pay, the location, the equipment, and the average hours. [/ QUOTE ] Lloyd's more or less known for his tounge-in-cheek humor. Think it's possible given the medium that you misread it? Lloyd is also known for being hard nosed on NOT flying for free, NOT flying broken equipment and his HUGE on CFIs making a fair wage. What you suggest by calling him a "sell out" goes against everything he's said previously. I'm saying maybe think about what you say and who it's coming from before jumping to conclusions. I agree with you, and I think your questions are relevent when looking for a job. [ QUOTE ] You are also telling me that I should put up with someone who doesn't know me and passes judgement on my situation without my having recourse, I should just grow a thicker skin and eat it. [/ QUOTE ] How about thinking before flying off the handle? [ QUOTE ] You are talking to a man who was fired from a major flight school because I had a disagreement with the D.E. and believe me I won't change because you think I should have a thicker skin. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I've been reading that thread. Not everyone is like that DE, and it really looks like you're letting that event run away with you. I'm not saying jump at the next job that comes along. I'm just saying that maybe something meant as a joke came across wrong, and you're over-reacting. [ QUOTE ] I am not so sure that telling someone to go back and research a person's previous posts before you answer their present post is good advice. I would say that advice is a little retarded. Please know that I have not went back and researched your previous posts looking for other retarded responses, I am handling this based on what you are presently saying too me. [/ QUOTE ] So, you base everything you read off the here and now not on the history of the person saying it? No offense, but THAT'S retarded. So is posting angry. It's pretty obvious that you were. I like to know the background of someone before just assuming their a "sell out." On your philosophy, Doug could come along and say "PFT is good" and he would automatically be a PFT loving scumbag since that was his latest post. You and I both know differently from his previous posts and outlook. Same with Lloyd. From his previous posts, I know that he's big on CFIs being compensated fairly with good work rules, which is why I suspect his post was toungue-in-cheek. Now, if I took your post at face value, I'd say you're a hot head that flies off the handle and can't take a joke. However, I know that you've been through a major ordeal with ATP, so you're probably stressed out, angry and feel cheated. I would too in your position. However, I wouldn't base my assumptions of a person off of a singular post. |

| Thanks for trying to analyze me but you also are way off base. I am not angry, stressed, nor do I feel cheated. I could be considered a hot head, but I don't fly off the handle unless provoked. You may not know this about me but I have an excellent sense of humor and can take a joke as well as the next guy, maybe even better. But I am not going to sit there and let someone who doesn't know me from Adam suggest that I can't ask questions regarding a possible job. But I will say this, if you expect me to go back and search each and everybody's posts to determine whether or not they have a sense of humor is once again retarded. When you meet someone on the street, you go by first impressions. Written word is the same thing. |

| Man, kellwolf is my homie today, I'm agreeing with him left and right! One of the things viczx9, that you'll have to realize here on jetcareers is that none of these guys really take themselves too seriously and we all poke fun at each other. Sometimes it's misconstrued and turns into a little bickering match, but most of the time it's just a good ol' jarring. Just think of us as that group of old guys that hang out cracking jokes at the airport. If you feel like you're being picked on, that means you're fitting in quite well. The key to remember on the internet, is that it's just that, the internet. We have our whole professional lives to act as professionals, why not have a forum where we can all just loosen our ties and say things that we'd never say at our job? |

As you can see from the amout of posts I've made I'm also new to this forum. This forum is not your regular chat room where people debate and go back and forth to see who is right? Its an information forum. I don't think the joke was directly aimed at you it was aimed at all of us out here..go back to it and read it again. Aloha ! ![]() Nalu |

[/ QUOTE ] Well, I certainly hope you weren't planning on sending a resume to me, for a job at the flight school that I work at - a flight school where you're start out at $20.00 or more (and increase) - because your attutude certainly isn't one that I'd like to deal with on a daily basis. ![]() Most of the folks around here know that I'm being a smart-a$$ most of the time, and that I'm usually pretty easy to get along with. A sell-out? Hardly that. I work my a$$ off for every single dime that I earn, and I encourage each and every one of you to do the same. I sincerely hope that you can get the job of your dreams on the first shot. A little background for you here - I was offered a job at MTSU paying $12/hour. I was also offered a job with my present employer, starting at $20/hour. Without that second offer, I'd be working at MTSU, because that was the best thing around. However, I was in a position to choose, so I did. Your flying off the handle on somebody without figuring out if somebody is giving you a hard time or not, is pretty silly my friend. Hopefully you can relax and learn your way around here. Otherwise, it's gonna be a long ride in this aviation game . . . Kell gives good advice - grow some thicker skin! |

| I am the type of guy who stands up for myself. Why on earth would someone mistake that for a bad attitude? I don't kiss ass, and I speak my mind. I pull no punches and sugarcoat nothing, to use all of the cliches. I asked a simple question which wasn't addressed to you and you came back with a snide remark, joking or not. So I am supposed to allow you to say this. I don't think so. I treat people the way I want to be treated. I match attitude for attitude. You do have some good friends on here who have all ganged on me for saying what I said to you, but I am one man taking on your gang who can't see the fact that you answered a question addressed to someone else with a snide remark. If you can't take my replies, then don't make remarks which people could find offensive. You should thank your gang for attempting to take up for you. |

| Old Skool | So, you say that several people with a differing view point from you is "ganging up" on you? Ever occur that you just might be wrong instead? I respect you for standing up for yourself, but when you might have made a mistake maybe it's more man to say "may bad" than "You're all ganging up on me....." |

[/ QUOTE ] So far, the only views are that MTSU was joking. The consensus is that I should relax and realize he was joking. Yes, more than one person has replied to me on MTSU's behalf. I don't know what else to call it. As I said, you all are biased and you can't see that the question was not directed to MTSU the Question was directed to the original poster. MTSU took it upon himself to post a snide remark and when I call him to task, his possey responds. So the jist of my argument is that I didn't ask MTSU for his reply. He replied on his own. I didn't like his response. Several people chimed in with support for MTSU. |
