Has anyone heard of Mankato Aviation in Mankato, MN? They're looking for MEI's. It also says they have a collegiate program with Minnesota State University. Thanks!

a couple years ago they made a lot of university students mad by charging them more than they were charging for somebody off from the street for flight training (they do both training for uni students and private individuals). Not sure if that has changed... the old problems were from about 4 years ago. Nice airport though... and a lot of students I would imagine.

[/ QUOTE ] I train at Thunderbird Aviation which is owned by the same family/company. They also own another flight school, Academy Aviation out of KMIC. Overall I have had pretty good feelings with them. The maintenance is top notch and they have a good number of aircraft. If they ever need to, they will swap planes between the three company. I know the Mankato State program does provide a good number of students. It is a good sized airport but does not have tower. You are a very short hop from the MSP Class B airspace. It is also a short 30-40 mins depending on the aircraft from the Class D apt that I am based out of. Sometimes the prices seem a little high, but we know it can't be cheap. |
