Default expressjet HR contact

Well, upon the recommendations of several XJT employees (one that I teach) I submitted my resume online and am patiently waiting for any phonecalls. I feel a little short on the hours (at 750TT and 180Multi it's a bit close). I found no place on their website to add references of those that would write recommendations for me- what do you guys think would be the best way to contact their HR department to update my application and add those references. I suppose they don't post their phone number for dorks like me trying to call all the time

cross the fingers!

Don't worry about it, it doesn't matter. I had someone very high up that was going to put one in for me, and HR told him not to bother because it didn't matter anyways (seems ludicrous to me, but whatever).

Apply online, and then don't mess with it. Don't update it, don't call, don't do anything. If you do, it will reset the application and you'll have to wait another 4 months. They will call if you meet the mins. I applied 11/02/04 and didn't finally get called until the end of March '05.

If you do get called and invited to interview, THEN get recommendations to take with you.

My $.02.

Last I heard, HR was still swamped with apps. They took time off for Xmas, and the next thing they knew they were two months behind. By the time they get to ya, you might meet the mins. Although, with internal recommendations, you might get an interview with what you've got. As far as how to get in touch with HR, not really sure. I've got a couple of numbers from when I was working there, but I doubt they'd like me handing them out.

I'm telling you... Internal recs will NOT get you an interview any quicker, and neither will bugging HR. I have this info. from a VERY reliable source, about 2 months ago. I doubt anything's changed. If the internal rec. that I had didn't get me moved to the top of the pile for a phone call (which it didn't), then nobody's will. It's assinine, IMO, but they WILL call you if you apply, and meet the mins. It just takes awhile. Good luck!

Once they call you and give you the code to put on your resume, make sure you have over 1000 or you may get a ding letter

ESF...

So did you go to the XJT interview? I know your experience with AE wasn't that good, but what's the scoop with you and XJT? Besides... I thought the 'Van was treating you well... if you steer clear of Signature's anyway!

Bumblebee... I apologize for not calling you. I actually tried to a month ago but it just rang with no voicemail... that was the number you gave me in way back in JAX. I'll try you on the one you PM'd me this weekend.

Very true. I have an acquaitance who happens to do interviews here. A letter from a current employer, captain you have flown with or current chief pilot is what they want. A letter from someone who offered to write you a letter is a liability.

No, I didn't go. I'm enjoying flying freight too much. Besides, they called right after I took my checkride, so I really wasn't in a position to take time off for an interview anyways.

If they had called just a few weeks earlier, I probably would've at least interviewed though.

Yea make sure about the 1000TT, 20 actual, and 30 hours simulated in the prev 6 months. I didnt know about the 1000TT I thought is was still at 600/100...so I faxed my resume off with 979/400 and got a "We are sorry but at this time..............."

Had I only known...oh well I guess I will have to wait another 6 months.

see that doesn't seem right. i know the airline industry is very weird, but come on if you have mins post them and don't punish someone because they don't meet the mins for that current week

are you guys saying their minimums are now back up to 1000TT?

Reminds me of a bug catcher- don't tell anyone about the blue light, wait until they come, and ZAP! Reincarnation T-minus 6 months!

This was the speech I got from one of the VPs at XJT when I asked about mins during orientation. "We don't publish hard minimums so that we can adjust our hiring to our current needs." I think right now their current needs are not dire enough to hire 600TT anymore. Plus, with ATP feeding the pipeline, that makes it tougher.

I just got the call today to send in my resume with the reference code... my times are 700/200... any recommendations? I won't be at 1000 for another six months anyway, so I plan on sending it in.. but is it a lost cause? Would having my resume walked in earlier on help me out (it was walked in by a friend a couple months ago)? Just curious if anybody has any input! Thanks!

If you got the call for the reference code, that means your res got through the first screening. Do it. It's not a lost cause. If they considered your times too low, you would have gotten a ding letter instead of the phone call. I think the 200 ME might be making the difference.

Well, if it were me (but it's not so mileage may vary), I would just send the resume. The cover letter is just an attention getter to get someone to look at your resume. You already have their attention.

I was 965 and 485ME when I got the ding letter. Try to get the 1000 asap before you submit. I've been submitting my res. since I got 1000 (10 days later) and no response. I got the call at the end of March. After talking with my friends who got on I found out the new bar is at 1000TT to interview .

I was told by someone that works there that it does no good at all to have anybody walk in your resume. In fact he told me "they dont do that anymore"

Yup mins are 1000TT/200 multi. If you were like me and faxed it in at 971/400 then you will have to wait three months to reapply.....still havent figured out how to reapply.
