Now, here are some tips. I applied for both of these internships last fall, and screwed up the phone interview. (Don't be me if you get called)!

First: They REQUIRE that you have atleast a commercial (and preferably, instrument and ME ratings) for the Flight Operations internship.

I was not considered for the Flight Operations internship because of this, since I only have a PPL.

The Flight Safety internship is what I tried to get, and had the phone interview for. Blew it

Second: I have the name, email, and phone number of the HR person to contact for these internships. You won't find this info on the Comair website.

If you're serious about applying, PM me, and I'll send you the contact info for the HR person.

Yeah, they ask questions pertaining to stuff like that during your phone screening.

Are you an undergrad. student?

Do you have at least a 3.0 GPA ?

etc. etc. to make sure you meet the requirements.

Hmmm. CFI and make money, or intern, make no money but get a foot in the door. I missed it. Did it say how long the intern ship is? I'm technically a distance learning senior with a GPA that qualifies....

It depends on the university you're attending... whether you're on a quarter/semester system. So, it's approximately 3 to 4 months in duration.

3-4 months without pay, yes. But you do get your foot in. They give a guaranteed interview at the published minimums, currently 1200TT 200ME. You'll work with the Chief Pilots, so unless you screw up during your internship, you're pretty much a shoe-in as long as the Chief Pilots are satisfied with you.

Not only that but I think the possibilities of jump seating, the CRM class and the sim rides would be a great experience to have also.

We had one of these interns in my ground school. Get this, she had to go to WORK after ground school! The company had her in GS from 0700-1400ish then send her to the office to work for a few hours! She had to study and take all the same tests we did. That was a lot of stuff! Anyway, I am sure she will have a job here when she gets her time, if she wants it.
