Gulfstream , although maybe that's the real pilots, and still missing is Tab Express, last I saw THEY pay for all of your training as long as you put $100,000 down and sign a 4-year contract

There have been many hired with much less than that. Around 500 tt and 100 multi is what I've heard pilots being hired at.

I really don't have any desire to work there (Great Lakes)... but I'm always curious to know what their minimums are. They always seem so much lower than everybody elses... guess maybe it's because you can't find a whole lotta pilots to fly for $15.00 an hour!

I assume that nobody here has ever done a paid internship because they pay too low?

Just curious...

You may want to double check that "up to date hiring info" you posted - I don't think you source is completley accurate...Midwest Airlines has had pilots on furlough for several years - not hiring......, PSA recently furloughed - not hiring....., Chicago Express - not hiring......, I didn't even think Sun Country was still i n business but they have an active website so I guess they are - but says nothing about p[ilot hiring......., one of the Hawaiin airlines have pilots on furlough(can't remember if it's Hawaiin or Aloha) - not hiring........, Skyway is interviewing for a pool but don't expect a job anytime soon......., Frontier is reducing flights so I doubt they're doing much hiring but maybe so........

Aloha doesn't have any furloughs as far as I know -- one of my pals got hired there earlier this year. And I think Sun Country is still in operation, at least as of last month because they share one of our gates in PHX. They're flying around some 73NG's with a new paint scheme.

Aloha is hiring but HAL has some guys out on furlough. SCX is still operating in some form or another. I believe all of PSA's recent reductions were gate agents, etc. ... as far as I know they didn't reduce any pilots or FAs. They did close the PIT and CAK domiciles though ... I think for now most everybody is based at TYS, DAY, and PHL ... all the Dorniers are gone. Any more RJ deliveries are deferred due to the BK. They were to open a CLT domicile but that has been delayed indefinitely.

Sun Country is operating, but they won't be hiring off the street for several years. I have a friend who is hoping to be called back in 2-3 years.

PSA did reduce pilot numbers - I was talking to their training department about an instructor position - which I declined due to the troubles there - on Sept 20th (I believe) they "furloughed" 44 pilots that were in the training pipeline and there were also a wave of downgrades as well with more furloughs probably coming soon. As mentioned above they also laid off a bunch of ground support people in connection to the closing of PIT and CAK.

I don't think that Aloha is hiring, perhaps they are collecting resumes for a pool for future classes. The 737-200 simulator has been tooo quiet for any new hires.

Unfortunately, you are correct about PSA. One of my roommates was just through Indoc and has been furloughed. (Officially began today in fact.) With any luck they'll be bought out...
