Default Got the call from SkyWest

I have an interview in SLC on the 21st of this month. Any other JC members scheduled?

Does anyone know of a Frasca142 available for rent in TX?

Yeah, I'm scheduled for May 30th. 1235TT, 450 multi, 110 instrument, CE-525 type rating... We'll see how it goes!

Good luck - I interviewed at the beginning of the month - I'm waiting on a call or letter saying yay/nay. They're a good group of people that interview. Study hard, it's a very thorough interview. I recommend The Turbine Pilot's manual, and Everything explained... I also simmed a solid 3 hours prior to the interview - and did pretty well on that. Good luck!

Don't do it. You don't want to work there.

You have a Citation type and you want to go work for $20K? May I ask why? Can I have your type?

I have 1100TT 110ME 725 Dual Given and 95 Instrument.

Currently rereading "Everything Explained". I need to relearn Jepps and get some Sim time. Looks like I will be road-tripping it to SAT for the Sim time. The only place in Houston with a Frasca142 is DCA and they wont do any Part 61 training.

Well this confuses me a little. I applied in March with 1600tt 150 multi 106 instrument 1000 dual given and got an email yesterday saying no thanks! Plus I even had an internal recommendation. I figured that with recent events that they had an influx of super high time people so my app got bumped out of the list but it sounds like my times are close to all of yours. When do you guys suggest I re-apply?

I'd have your internal rec call the hiring dept and find out why they won't give you an interview.

He got a hold of Camiel and I went in for an interview last week. Ill find out in 5-10 days. It was a tough interview, no doubt about that. I wouldn't be surprised if I got the call either way... How did everyone else's go?

My interview didnt go well at all. I got the "we would like to invite you to re-interview in 6months" email 4 days later.

I was totally bummed until a job flying right seat in a Hawker landed in my lap.

However, I will say that I was very impressed by the professionalism of everyone involved in the process. Good luck.

He probably knew someone in the right place, thats how most of these corporate gigs seem to work out... Guess I need to make more friends.

You can get a 525 type for like 2 grand, its not a very expensive type. And having one does not mean you can get a job flying one necessarily.

Yep, I got the Hawker job via a student I was working with on his CFII. He was in line for the Hawker job and recommended me on his way out the door to his new job. Turns out he met a guy with a C208 and C421 who needed a chief pilot. I have always wanted to fly Corporate but always thought I would have difficulty networking my way in. We have all heard it a million times but Aviation is a small world. You just never know. Now I am just looking forward to paying it forward when able.

BTW, the Hawker is awesome! (1970's technology and all)

Thats great! Corporate/135 can be hard to get into here in California. The companies usually have steep minimums and a lot of qualified applicants. It looks like that part of the industry is pretty stable right now, have fun!

I interviewed last week as well. My interview went alright. Like you said, it was a tough interview.

I still haven't heard anything. My interviewer said in his debrief, "I'm gonna recommend that we hire you." Sounds promising, but I want to see it in writing. Him having said that, I'd be absolutely devastated if I got a rejection letter since he got my hopes up.

I've heard that people have received calls. But after saying he'd recommend that I get hired, my interviewer said that I should expect a package by FedEx or US Mail. So I'm not even sure what we should be waiting for.

Also, I've heard people say it's 5-10 business days. Some people have heard as early as the day following the interview, and some have said at the end of the 10th business day. The wait is killing me....
