Re: Mesaba I just interviewed today and it went as follows:
1) PP presentation on the company, benefits, and domiciles
2) Aptitude exam (timed) I finished 37 of 50 and that was about avg in the class of 7 people
3) 25 question written on IFR, and part 91. There were no 121 questions and nothing from the ATP book. (However; I did study the book)
4) Next was the 2 on 1 interviews. 1 HR person and a Line Pilot. A lot of scenario based questions and systems questions about the most previously flown multi. This part is very laid back and is more like a discussion than question and answer.
***If you pass all of that, you will go on to the SIM ride***
5) Sim ride - oldest sim I think I have ever seen. You do steep turns, turns to headings, VOR tracking and holding an ILS APP to mins with a missed and an NDB hold. The instruments are very basic: heading, 1 VOR, 1 movable card ADF, 1 COM, 1NAV. Pretty basics, but everyone makes atleast one mistake, the thing is so unrealistic, there is no way to be perfect. They are looking for basic IFR knowledge.
6) After the sim is the drug screening and then home.
We were told that it could take up to a week to hear back.
Overall, the whole interview is very laid back and they make you feel very welcome. I dont know if I got the job or not, but either way, it was a fun time. Good luck!! I am sure you will do fine, just dont go into the interview with scripted answers and be 100% honest about everything. |
