| Re: Scenic How is the interview sim equipped for nav instruments? HSI, RMI, standard VOR head, etc.? I'm hitting the sim a bit and might as well practice with a similar setup.

| Re: Scenic Well, I'll apply as soon as I get my IPC done. I'm on my third FBO trying to get it done.
First FBO went out of business between my BFR and IPC.
Second one has canceled on me two out of three times over the past week and a half. The last time was today, when I drove for 1.5 hours only to find the plane was down for MX and they didn't bother to call me. I spent three hours in my truck and $25 in gas for nothing.
Trying a third FBO on Monday.
Based on this experience, I don't blame people for not going the FBO route with their flight training. It's taken me two weeks and three FBOs just to get an IPC done. I can't imagine trying to get everything up to MEI at an FBO.

I think they email you with some interview dates. |

| Re: Scenic Congrats guys... all of the gouge in this thread alone will be enough to get you through the interview. And the sim prep will have you passing the sim with flying colors if you have good instrument skills to begin with. Hope to see you guys around! |

| Re: Scenic Good luck. As far as the sim prep, if you have any prior ftd device experience or are current in ifr then I wouldn't bother with the sim prep. The sim is very straight forward, not worth showing up the day before. Just use FS if you have it. Also a tip, the sim they use doesn't have a tv monitor, it's just a panel so you'll litteraly be flying the panel. |

| Re: Scenic The gouge mentions reading a TAF. I've heard they are big on the Remarks section.
How in depth is the TAF they have you read? I'm sure it's more than just a simple TAF. Does into have things such as '3 and 6 hours precipitation' (ex. 60217 = 2.17 " of precip in the last six hrs.)? Or is it more along the lines of a "normal" TAF with things that would be location specific.... widespread dust, etc.? |

| Re: Scenic They want to see that you can understand and interpret the TAF, not just be able to read all of the obscure remarks. Know what the weather is doing, what you can expect the weather to be like at XX time, etc. |
