Has an airline employee myself, YOU WANT TO KNOW YOUR FLOWS AND OPS -EMPHASIS FLOWS!!! DO YOUR WRITTEN TEST, YOU MAY HAVE TO GIVE UP INSTRUCTING TO CONCENTRATE FULLY ON THE PIEDMONT STUFF, YOU DON'T WANT TO GO IN THERE AND BE ASKED TO LEAVE BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOUR STUFF, SO STUDY STUDY STUDY!!!
P.S. I have an interview with them on the 17th. How was the written? Can you give me the gouge on that? I 've looked over aviationinterviews.com, willflyforfood.com and more, is it pretty much what folks said or is there more? how was your experience with them? Any info is appreciated, pm if you want. Thanks, and hope to see you soon!

| Re: Piedmont--got the job! but i have an urgent question! Eh, you don't need to know your stuff. You'll pick it up in the first week of class while you're studying. I wouldn't sweat it.
Especially given how desperate PDT is for pilots, they're not really going to send you home...

| Re: Piedmont--got the job! but i have an urgent question! Chris is right though about the level of desperation at PDT. I've been offered a class date without interviewing just from having lunch at the terminal in SBY. Nice people and good flying I'm sure. |

| Re: Piedmont--got the job! but i have an urgent question! Let me preface this by saying I'm not at PDT but I do interact with their crews on a pretty regular basis...
The stuff you are going to want to know in and out are probably the flows and call outs. The systems stuff they are going to teach you, but you should probably know as much as you can understand on your own. If you have no experience with complex systems they aren't going to expect you to teach your self, however once you do start learning it there they probably expect it will come together pretty quickly as you have seen it all before in the pretest.
PDT has been sending guys home. They may be desperate, but there are still standards. You'll need to know your stuff to make it through, but the training program is NOT what it was 3 years ago. I think that might be true right across the board for all regionals.
Also, they finally started painting their Dashes (leaving PSA as the only express carrier with no airplanes in the new paint) and they look niiiiice. |

| Re: Piedmont--got the job! but i have an urgent question! I agree with Chris--don't stress too much about it. I'd focus on the limitations and get a basic idea of the systems, but flows aren't the most difficult thing in the world to pick up.
And I can't imagine them sending you home because you don't know all your flows when you get there.

| Re: Piedmont--got the job! but i have an urgent question! I had 2 weeks to study all the material before I went to training at PDT back in August 2005. If you study anything, study the flows and call outs. The systems stuff you'll pick up in ground school. Also memorize the limitations. You'll have a written test just on the limitations. Is PDT still flying the 200? If they are you'll have to memorize limitations on 3 aircraft, the DASH8-100 200 and 300.
You'll want the flows memorized for CPT (cockpit procedures training) or sometimes called 2 on 1 because you'll have 1 instructor and 2 students. This will happen after ground school but before the SIM. Usually in an actual A/C at an outstaion (I did mine at SBY) after the last flight of the night. (so be ready for a late night)
Good luck. |

| Re: Piedmont--got the job! but i have an urgent question! As of now, most of us got Middletown/Harrisburg, PA (MDT). The rest were scattered amongst SBY, CHO, LGA. MDT is really really really hurting badly for FO's. I personally got MDT, and I'm hoping for LGA really soon (since I live in New York City already, i think that would be sensible)
