| What are the interviewers looking for? What are the interviewers looking for? Reason for the question: I have heard of people interviewing, being well above the TT minimums for any regional , passing the written and sim, but not getting the job offer. Obviously, the HR portion busted the opportunity of employment. Any thoughts. |

| Re: What are the interviewers looking for? The interviewers want to learn what kind of person you are. They want to know if you are a mature, intelligent, knowledgeable person who is skilled in his craft. They want to know if you are the kind of person who will fit intothe corporate culture. This is true for every interview you will ever have, aviation or otherwise.
The key is to be yourself. Don't try to be what you think they want you to be. If you try to be what you think they want, and you guess wrong, you will not get an offer. If you guess right, now you are either stuck pretending to be something, or the real you (that does not fit into the corporate culture)will come out eventually. Either one does not bode well for your long term future with the company, if you want to move up within the company. |

| Re: What are the interviewers looking for? Most places already know that you can fly a plane, or you wouldn't be interviewing. I've heard this numerous times that all it comes down to is are you a good person? Could someone be able to work with you for a 3 or 4 day trip? |

Besides knowing your stuff, you need to be a "likable" personality. Show up to the interview shaking in your pants, nervous as heck and keeping to yourself won't get you anywhere. Smile, be happy to be there. If you don't get the job, you try somewhere else. Prove to them that you not only know your stuff, but you would actually be a good time to fly with, rather then hear the lonesome drone of engines all day. |

| Re: What are the interviewers looking for? I have not interviewed yet, but from what I gather from my friends that have is 1 - Prove your not going to kill the paying px. 2- (and just as importantly) Prove your the type of guy that a stranger could have a beer with and hold an excellent conversation. I'd imagine dales comment about "the drone of the engines" is spot on. |
