Where did you interview at or where are you planning on being based? Is Tulsa their only base?

I haven't interviewed yet. Still hoping for a call. As I understand it, you are home based. Meaning, you can live just about anywhere and they will positive space you to your assignment (meaning purchase you a confirmed airline seat). For those that have worked for an airline before and had to commute, you understand how nice that is around the holidays!!!

They are HQ'd in Tulsa, OK.

I've got a couple of furloughed ATI buddies over there. Home basing is correct (once you go home basing you will never wanna go back!). Pay is ok, with the potential to earn A LOT of overtime if you want. All MD/DC10s being outfitted with SATCOM, EFBs etc (as far as I have heard). Lots of ACMI and charter work (757s do a lot of the vacation charters to and from Lost Wages).

Not a bad place to be, if you don't mind being on the road for 15+ days at a time, but you do get a lot of time off.

I don't know too much information about the company but I have a friend that works there doing PR/HR types of stuff but he goes on a lot of charter flights. I've spent quite a bit of time over at TUL since it is only about a 30min. flight from where I live.

Here is some pictures of their DC-10s while flying over to Germany to pick up soldiers that my friend took:

Hi. When you have the interview, I'd appreciate some feedback. I'm 60 and looking for work, living in TUL. Supposed to talk to them this week. Thanks.

Ran into an instructor for OAI yesterday in between class and he was suggesting that they are having a lot of movement going on right now. Good luck man!

I take it you are corresponding with the 757 fleet manager, then? Or is there going to be a DC-10 class for Aug.? Let me know if I can help out, or answer any questions for you. The interview process is pretty laid back at OAI, it is a very non-threatening environment. It basically consists of a conversational interview, assessment of your basic instrument flying skills on a FTD (steep turns, holding, ILS), and a written knowledge test with commercial and ATP type questions. Both fleet managers and the chief pilot are good people. They will give you the good and the bad points of working here, straight up. I know another OAI guy is on this board, and the information he can give you will be dead-on as well. Good Luck

For those looking for information on Omni, I just interviewed and was hired. I've flown for a number of companys and I'd have to say that Omni has some of the best people I've met in this industry. If you need details, just PM me. I'd be glad to answer any questions that I can.

Congratulations! Glad to hear you finally got your interview/hired. Let me know when you are in TUL for a while and I'll see when I have some free time to fly over there.
