The "Interview Questions" thread I figured that this may help out a lot of us. If you have any good, realistic interview questions, post 'em.
I'll start with some IFR stuff (as opposed to systems type stuff/multi engine operations stuff) (note: I am not yet at the interview stage yet, almost, but not quite there, so these are based on my own studying from gouges and scouring the FARAIM and Jepps).
----------------------------------------
1. When are you "established" on the final approach course?
2. When does RVSM airspace start?
3. What are the cruising altitudes in RVSM and non-RVSM airspace?
4. What does the "D" in a VOR box mean?
5. What terrain clearance does an MSA give you?
6. A MOCA? (I believe this type of info can also be found in the Jepp. legend)
7. How much error is there allowed on a DME arc?
8. How do you calculate VDP in terms of distance? (answer, since it's a common question: HAT/300 = dist. in miles.)
9. Same as No. 8, but in time? (answer, HAT/10, and subtract that from the time to MAP).
10. What is the airspeed restriction in Class B airspace?
11. What about under Class B airspace?
12. What about within 4 miles and 2500AGL from a Class B or D airport?
13. Under Part 121, where on the runway must you land?
14. When looking at a Class B airspace on an enroute chart (jepp), what does this symbol (in red) mean? "40" ?
15. Where does a MOCA guarantee adequate NAVAID reception?
Please add to this and/or post your answers. I'll be adding more as I get time and come across more stuff as I review my notes. |
