American Airlines Flight Ops Interview?

Has anybody out there gone through the American Airlines Flight Operations Internship Interview? I'm heading down to Dallas on Tuesday for and am just looking for any advice or pointers!

I did the internship in the summer of 2002. Study your FAR/AIM, brush up on HR interview questions and know the company. You might get something obscure just to see how well-studied you are. For example, I remember being asked the different types of hydroplaning.

You're being considered because you're a top notch candidate. These are VERY competitive spots so treat it no less than an airline interview. Suit, professional, on time, etc. Treat everybody you encounter with the utmost respect because these might be some of the people you'll be working with during your internship. Your first impression is priceless. Lisa McGrail (if she still coordinates the interns) is a real straight shooter. Don't BS her, don't fluff her up... just be polite, professional, answer the questions, and try to relax. She's a great person and she'll do a lot for you when you need it.

Another pilot or HR person might sit in on the interview, then some of the current interns usually show you around the training center and possibly the C.R. Smith museum. Have fun and let us know how it went!

I got the paid summer internship with American! Thanks to both of you for your great help in preparing for the interview. The interview was dead on as you both stated. Now I just need to find housing or a crashpad.
