| This is not an aviation interview but I though it apt to post this question here. I am applying for a labour position at UPS--hopefully their datebase entry due to my fast typing skills or package handling. I would even like to load the planes. I suppose I have two questions though. 1) If they ask me somthing like, "What position would you like to have?" would it be okay to say somthing like, "Well the database position is apt for me as I am a fast typist, but I also am willing to do manual labour. However, I was wondering if it would be possible for me to work around the planes. I am stuyding to be a pilot and thought that it may be a good expereince." 2) Will just a general position at UPS during college perhaps help me have some status in the company if I ever did want to apply as a pilot? Perhpaps some of you UPS pilots would know this one. I know UPS is hard to get into. Also, I will start schools in January 2006. Now the guy I talked to at the flight school tried to do college, flight training, and UPS at the same time and it about killed him--literally. He fell asleep at the wheel and was involved in a car crash. All I could say was, "At least it was not in a plane." I am willing to try managing these and will quite UPS if I find it too difficult. UPS is only 4 hour shifts and maybe I could work out the kinks with my boss. UPS is very good to students, so they may be willing to work with me. Sorry for the long post and any feedback would be appreciated. |
