| Senior Member | Get a load of this: http://www.jetuniversity.com/ They've updated their website ! Fly the Boeing 727 as a Paid Airline Pilot within 10 Months. The Professional Airline Pilot Program combines the Commercial Pilot Training Course and the Jet First Officer Training Course into one program. The actual number of weeks required to complete each course vary depending on the individual student’s training schedule and progress based on the student’s proficiency. Jet University provides the only First Officer Part 121 Jet Internship Program, including a 6-month minimum flying contract with a Part 121 Boeing 727 carrier. In 6 months, you will earn $30/flight hour which is more than twice the normal Regional Airline pay. During the 6 months contract, you will fly the Boeing 727 into most of the busiest airports in the US, as well as experiencing international flying into Canada, Mexico, Central and South America. Our airline internships represent a unique opportunity for the low time pilot to acquire real Part 121 experience and Boeing 727 Jet Aircraft time. If you haven’t started flying yet, Course 100 is the prerequisite to all the other courses. If you already have your Commercial and Instrument Certificates with Multi-engine rating, you can start with either Course 200 or 500. If you have either 1,500 hours Total Time (including 250 hours multi-engine piston) or 500 hours Total Time with 250 hours of turboprop, you can start with either Course 400 or 401. Course 100: Commercial Pilot Program Course 200: Jet First Officer Program Course 300: Fast Track Airline Pilot Program (Course 100 & 200) Course 400: Jet Second in Command Program (250 flight hours) Course 401: Jet Second in Command Program (500 flight hours) Course 500: Jet Flight Engineer Program ************************************************** ***** The real question is, how much are they charging? I couldn't find a single price $ number on their website. Gulfstream charges $30k for their program, and that's for a Beech 1900. These people are probably gonna charge $50k+ and the sad thing is, they probably already have a huge line formed... Anyone know what Part 121 B727 airline they fly for ? Which airline has "agreed" to this ? If you thought Gulfstream was bad, this has gotta be worse! ![]() |

| Seems like they've bought themselves new phone numbers, but in the latest issue of Flying, they had the same phone numbers as Gulfstream. Same scumbag outfit.

| HOLY CRAP they charge $23,000 for an ERJ type rating. You should get 5 type ratings for that cost.

| I think paying for a type rating is justifiable, unlike paying for a job. Isn't buying a type-rating just like paying for your other licenses? |

| I would buy a type if I had time in numerous different turbine/jet aircraft, a few types already (paid for by someone else), and was doing contract work. Aside from that, a type with no time in type (or similar types to meet insurance mins), is probably not very useful. Just my $.02 |

If you already have a 737 type rating from your previous employer, then that's ok. But if you interview without one, and get hired, one of your conditions of employment is that you MUST obtain a 737 type rating within 6 months on your own dime. No other major airline with similar equipment does what SWA does. SWA knows it can continue doing this, since there is a HUGE line of pilots lined up for slots at Southwest, and they're willing to pay for their own type rating.

| I need verification that it's Custom Air Transport. As many details as possible. I'd like to bring this up at our union message board and see the reaction. Oh man, this could get interesting. |

Don't do anything until you have a 100% confirmation that it indeed is CAT that is facilitating this program.
