When I walked into Gulfstream back in 2002 I really wanted it to be a great place as I already lived in Fort Lauderdale. I was on time for my appointment to tour the place, but I still had to wait 30 mins standing around the reception/lobby/dispatch area for someone to show me around. Students would occasionally walk by and give me the "hello nod" but nobody smiled. The building looked dark and depressing. Finally the head used car salesman/scab/chief pilot walked out and gave me the .05 tour. He proceded to tell me how "lucky" I was for considering Gulfstream so early in my flying career, and showed me a stack of "resumes" of pilots wanting to do the "pay us to be our FO" program, but he could'nt "hire" them, because Gulfstream "hired" from the flight school first. Even though I didn't know any better at the time, something told me that paying Gulfstream to be their FO didn't make sense. I dunno, call me crazy? I walked out of there pretty bummed out, and I felt like I needed a shower.

I nominate peanucklecrj for the line of the year:

I've shot an approach to mins on your mother. Of course, you better not go missed or you have to worry about terrain clearance.

OUCH!

Palm Beach area is as much info as I am willing to give out. And no, not BCT. Skyblue is too overpriced and I haven't heard good things about them. Geez, what a coincidence, they have just recently declared some kind of partnership with GIA.

On the bright side, at these forums, members (at least the ones that post more than just to advertise for free or defend their flight program) have an abundant amount of knowledge as so they can make responsible decisions towards their flight training. However, I can't help but wonder what percentage of these aspiring pilots are actually doing their research online. (Not in company websites, but at aviation forums). It'd be interesting to see some sort of statistics on this.

Doug, as much as I appreciate your offer, you have already done more than enough for me. This forum is what will hopefully lead me to my future career.

Although if you were to allow us to pay via Paypal, I would've gladly bought something already.

My question to you is do you think you are better than everyone at schools like GIA
YES, I do and everyone else on ths board (non PFJ) is as well. Go to a PFJ and I'll ridicule you till your wee-wee falls off. Deal with it.

I think you and I are the only two people on earth that recognize the reference!

Whenever I've said, "Wrote a song 'bout it, wanna hear it? here it go!" I get the Blank Stare (tm).

Free your mind? Right? But for the life of me I can't remember who the heck sang it.

Edit: En Vogue. And all it took was opening up Media Monkey and searching my MP3 collection.
