Default SFAR 73

I'm in the process of adding on my rotor-wing and have a question about SFAR 73.

I see that there was a lag when it was expired the last time and I've heard rumors that it might not be renewed altogether. I was wondering what you chopper guys think will happen?

Next, what happens if there is a lag again and I receive 30 or so hours in Robbies? Will that grandfather me in when the SFAR is renewed again?

The way I'm reading it is, if (when) renewed the requirement for the endorsement will mean I have to go spend a good chunk of change for a signature.

As long as Frank Robinson is alive it will get renewed. That gem was his brain child and I doubt he will let it go away. I would just get it now as you go so you do not have to get it renewed again. I always made it the first lesson, presolo and the DPE usually will endorse your logbook after the checkride during training. That way it was done and over with. But do no take my word for it because I have not instructed in over a year so I could be wrong. I would just chek with your current instructor
