I was sitting in my office grumbling about my job and how I paid to become a pilot studied and paid my dues why do I not get paid for this and that; when I stumbled upon this article and it kicked me in the nads. I needed it by the way. After reading this article I began to wonder about my job and how I developed my attitude to date. I realized I took on the attitudes of flying that were presented by my instructor and I would pass those same attitudes on to my students. If I wanted to shape my industry it starts with me. I came up in the military mindset of you do what needs to be done and if you don't like it then go kick rocks. Somehow I lost it. My students will show the same piss poor sense of entiltlement unless I change my perspective and change it now. Nothing in this industry is handed out and nothing is easy. SO with that being said I am BORN AGAIN HARD. www.verticalmag.com Dec/jan issue 2007/08 Building the Right Attitude

| Senior Member | Ever taken full controls of a helicopter before? You might just enjoy it. Good luck Scottyboy! I think the helicopter industry is a tough one. Req are high, and it seems the only way to get a job is to pack your bags and move. Glad you still got the right attitude though. That's what will carry you far in the industry. Best of luck to you!

It must be working for me because my CP came into my office and asked if I thought I would be able to run our office once I hit 500 hrs. I guess the Director of OPs is moving to our 135 soon. "Its OK, I'd be pissed off too if I had to fly helicopters!" Could be worse I could be stuck in planks listening to pax complain. At least in fling wing its to loud to hear them. Shane

And no worries I picked up on the sarcasm right away. I asume everyone is sarcasming here all the time. I sarcasmed twice this morning already. I should take a shower. I was gonna throw in the joke. Why do airports have runways? So the handicapped can fly. ![]() Shane

I have a few hours in those. Not doing anything like that of course. More like trying to get the thing off the ground in August in MT. Nice interior very comfortable smooth flying, but not much in the way of power. Shane
