It depends on your financial situation! I wouldn't want to pay the insurance and Hanger or tiedown costs. Maintanance is going to gouge you. But if you can stay ahead of all that financialy.... The new engine will help keep mainanance costs low for a little while. *It will cost more to keep it than it will to buy it I think.

Hey vertical... do you have a lot of expendable income to spend on helicopters and helicopter training? I only ask because that would influence the advice we give you. (Different training ideas could be offered based on your financial situation, etc...)

ChinookDriver the reason I ask was because I have a buddy that wants to jump into one of those mini. And yes he got the money to threw around... For my self I about to start helo training next month, I was active duty in the army and I got out last year and last week I sign up with this National Guard unit out in L.I. New York. They carry UH-60 so I'm also working on getting into flight school (army).

Excellent! Good luck with getting your packet done. If you get in, flight school is a great time. You learn so much so quickly, but at the same time you'll have a great time hanging with your classmates or going to Panama City.

I'm pretty sure I know the Company Commander at that UH-60 unit. Went to a school with him at Ft Rucker.

Whenever I get to flight school (FT Rucker) I hope I really keep up with the material. I'm going to start taking lesson next week, do you think what I learn out here in the civilian world will help me at FT Rucker? I dont know the commander over here yet, but when I get to find out who he/she is I will let you know... I thought because i was prior serves It will be easy to get into the national guard, but you still have to do a bunch of paper work... Good thing that my physical is still good.... I will keep you posted..
