| What's the useful load of a 150 on wheels? Not much, but it really doesn't matter since it's a trainer. There's a flight school down in Alabama that gives seaplane training in a 150. If you're just training, you don't need to carry much!! |

| Hey, I did my seaplane training in an 85hp J3! No AI, no DG, heck all I could see at any given time was the tach, turn and slip and whiskey compass. I couldn't even see the airspeed indicator because my CFI's back was always in the way! Sarah |

They used to do the SES training, with two men, using only 65hp J3's. Down at Jack Brown's, in Florida, there is a Cessna 150 on floats (not for training, but owned by a local). According to Jack Brown, it is one of the few that came modified with floats (and structural reinforcing) from the factory. Here is a picture of mine that I took while I was down there: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/459654/L/ |
