| Moderator | [ QUOTE ] QUIT SNORING IN THE CREW ROOM!!!!!!!!!! That is all. Thanks. [/ QUOTE ] My first month out in NY I hadn't found a crash pad yet, so I had to sleep in the crew lounge. There was one night this guy was snoring SO loud, I thought the windows were going to blow out. (Either that or the Concorde was doing touch-n-goes!) I finally sat up and just stared at the guy for a second, and then noticed a guy on another couch laying there staring at the ceiling. He looked at me, I looked at him, and we both just started cracking up. We then tore apart the crew room looking for earplugs. We finally shoved our ears full of kleneex and went back to our respective couches. |

| The motel I'm staying in right now is so cheaply built, that even with my earplugs in, I can still hear the guy in the next rooms tv. I went out and bought one of those ear protector headset things that guys wear when the shoot guns. If I wear those over my earplugs, then it's quiet enough to study. Tomorrow, I'm outta this place and going to a better hotel. |

| Do alot of you guys actually wear ear plugs to help you sleep? I can't imagine sleeping with that much silence!!! But I can sleep in the back of a 53 at 50 AGL in mountainous terrain - sitting - without letting go of my rifle... ...Of course, I can't hear over the ringing anyway!!! |

| I'm a "total silence" kind of sleeper guy. |

| Old Skool | I sleep better with some sort of constant noise... rain, wind, static sound, whatever, but dead silence and uneven noise (snoring, traffic, etc) makes sleeping hard. You guys that use vibrating alarm clocks... where do you put them so you feel them? Under your pillow? Ethan |

| Having five roommates it's not uncommon to be woken up at 3am by music, yelling, or other alcohol induced loudness. I can't count the number of times I've simply gotten out of bed, opened my flight bag, put on my headset, and slept like a baby the rest of the night. Of course a problem arises when you have to wake up at a specified time which is usually the case, otherwise you too would be participating in the "alcohol induced loudness." ![]() |

Sorry it's not the most exciting place it could have been strapped, but hey, it woke me up! Oh, and earplugs are a god-send. I could not have survived without them! I used to grab them by the handfull out of the box in the crew lounge. |
