So I am considering the following: The Garmin 296 or 396 (not sure if I really want to spend the money just to get XM weather) or the AvMap Geo Pilot II. I have found MANY reviews and have played with the Garmins but finding info on the AvMap is a little tougher. Has anyone had any experience with the AvMap? I think I like the display a bit better than the Garmins, but I'd like to hear some opinions...

garmin 396 hands down. aviator lite subscrption is 29.99 / month. If i was an insurance guy I would give a discount to the guy who has access to graphical weather, ground radar, TFRs, airmets, sigmets, icing, metars, tafs... right at his fingertips. has terrain too. You can make the go/no go decision alot more informed. |
