Default Opinions on AvMap GPS

So I am considering the following: The Garmin 296 or 396 (not sure if I really want to spend the money just to get XM weather) or the AvMap Geo Pilot II. I have found MANY reviews and have played with the Garmins but finding info on the AvMap is a little tougher. Has anyone had any experience with the AvMap? I think I like the display a bit better than the Garmins, but I'd like to hear some opinions...

I know a guy in Dallas who has one. He really likes it. That's about all I can tell you.

You might also look at AnywhereMap's new one...the ATC.

garmin 396 hands down.

aviator lite subscrption is 29.99 / month.

If i was an insurance guy I would give a discount to the guy who has access to graphical weather, ground radar, TFRs, airmets, sigmets, icing, metars, tafs... right at his fingertips.

has terrain too.

You can make the go/no go decision alot more informed.

I have been digging around at different reviews for a month now and I think I am going to pull the trigger on the Garmin 396. I just finished reading the manual and it looks like a kick ass product. I have a Garmin in my truck and love it!!! It is one of the coolest "toys" I have ever bought...so I believe my decision is made! The HP model looks pretty good too, but I am always cautious with new electronics and it doesn't appear to have a battery?!? Very odd, I do believe.
