Sure, maybe it helps when you are the only 1900 around, but it doesn't help when you are the 5th RJ our of 11 in line for 27L at PHL.

Eh.

Still, keep em on. Because if they are not, it might be the one time when ATC REALLY needs to see where you are (in my worthless opinion).

Maybe it's reverse psychology. They actually want you to use them, so they tell you not to, knowing that you will...ever think of that?

I bet RG wished he had them on when that fuel truck plowed into him in BDL a few years back. Ask Rossi A why he taxies with all the lights on except strobes and landing lights.
