Default "Never Eat Alone" A how to networking book....

You often hear other pilots talk about the impotance of networking and you may have heard the phrase "It's not what you know, it's who you know". For a long time I resented that fact. I would say, that's not how it should be. Eventually, after seeing it in practice in so many ways, I got over it. Its the way the world works, and I needed to learn about it.

Networking is awesomely powerful and can help your career and life in so many ways. But what does that mean?

I remember collecting business cards here and there, and looking at them later... I thought...now what? I had information, but did not really have contacts. If I called those people up they probably wouldnt know me from Adam.

Recently, I stumbled upon a book that talks about what networking really means.

"Never Eat Alone" is subtitled "How to Build a lifelong Communityog Colleagues, Contacts, Friends, and Mentors and other secrets to success, one relationship at a time".

The book is authored by Keith Ferrazzi.

It is not aviation specific, but the principles and know how translate to any career, including pilots.

Anyways, if any of you are looking for a book to read on a layover, pick this one up.

I think it is going to help my career, and I wanted to pass on my good find.
