| Re: Not Old Enough to Drink........But Fly???? Quite more then you think I bet. I have not heard of many airlines that put a limit on F/O new-hires age.
I imagine a better question would be how many regionals won't hire an individual under 21 but above 18. |

| Re: Not Old Enough to Drink........But Fly???? I've heard there are plenty of folks who have been hired at the regionals lately who were 19-20. Obviously, 18 would be the bare minimum since you have to be that old to get a CPL.
Just out of curiosity, what would be the legal basis for an airline to require you to be 21 for a certain job? I understood a company can ask you if you're at least 18, but you ask for more than that opens up the door for age discrimination lawsuits. |

Maybe they can get hired under 18...

| Re: Not Old Enough to Drink........But Fly???? The American Eagle recruiter I talked to said they don't ask. If they seem close to 21 they check the high school graduation. If I remember, age discrimination only goes against discriminating for being too old.
Thinking of it, if you look at my resume I look 22 since I left high school 4 years ago. Quote:

I used to fly at Skypark Aviation at Sonoma Skypark. | I am 99% sure there is no such thing in the US. I know you can in Europe. I hope I am wrong, and if you have any more information please let me know. As for being a young pilot, the worse thing for me is not being able to rent a car on trips. Sometimes I can't even reserve a hotel room because of my age!
