Great, that's all we need.

More screening of people who are NOT security threats. Or, if they are, they've got all the tools they need to do anything they want in their own hands.

Seriously, if you've passed the screening and you're a pilot or FA, what the hell do you need to take with you in order to wreak some serious havoc?

Is the TSA going to confiscate people's hands?

We need to stop this stupid show that makes the once or twice a year Aunt Bessies say stupid crap like "well, it's an inconvenience but if it makes us safe, I'm all for it" and do something that actually does something.

By the way, folks, I saw an ad for TSA screeners in the paper. Know how much those guys are making?

Around $16 an hour plus benefits.

That's right, folks. The people who debate whether or not your toothpaste tube has too much toothpaste are getting more than the people flying the planes!

That doesn't change how crews are screened, just how airport employees get screened. It will be frustrating for stations where the counter agents also work the gate. That means every time they go back and forth they will have to get rescreened. That could be 9 or 10 times a day at some places.

Crewpass... that's all I've got to say.

Good maybe we can stop opening the panels to try to find what drugs and guns their "background checked" employees have hidden on our airplanes over night.

Absolutely! I worked the ramp for 12 years at UA before "this". Never ONCE did I ever have to go through security. Makes no sense.

Going through security today in SAN, the TSA agent mentioned to my FA that she was carrying a lot of liquids. I chimed in and said, "Well since the traveling public can't carry them, we're making up for it."

The they went nuts on some lady because her liquids were not in a 1 quart Ziploc bag. So let me get this straight...

Not in a 1 quart Ziploc bag = Dangerous, explosive material that can bring down an airliner.

Move contains into said 1 quart Ziploc bag = Dangerous properties removed and items are perfect safe.

Enough to make your head explode!

Yes! We got strange looks when did the normal routine of taking out liquids, removing shoes etc. Stupid gringos.

The most refreshing thing about going through security in a foreign country for me is that the TSA rudeness and classless yelling does not exist.

Really? Sometimes I think it's even worse over there. Especially Heathrow last summer...I had to deadhead through there more then once. What a nightmare. You know things are bad when you actually start to miss the TSA and think to yourself "The TSA wouldn't be this bad!".

Ireland has been fairly good to us, but even they're starting to be a little stricter in Shannon (used to get away with not taking laptops out, but not anymore). One place that is almost scary laid back is Kuwait. We walk through the metal detector without emptying our pockets, set it off, and keep on walking. Not a second glance from the one screener who is also looking at the x-ray screen (when not preoccupied by his cell phone).

Because passengers don't listen! Not sure why, but, when people travel, their IQ drops about 75% & they do the most dumbest things.

I should take a picture the next time I see a passenger attempt to put their baby on the belt to go through the x-ray machine or passengers arguing why they can't take their water through security.

You're absolutely right. Why should Joe Schmo be allowed to take their unopened water through security when they can buy the same thing for 3x the price on the other side. Makes perfect sense to me.

But hey, I'm obviously not in tune with the security of the Nation.

I think they do it so that people can hear them. I've got a lot of problems with the TSA, but this isn't one of them. They've got to be loud so that people hear them.

But the charade needs to end!

It's getting close to seven years after September 11 and we still don't have EDS systems in place? Hello? Companies have been begging to put those into airports since September 12, 2001.

I think the BEST airport ever to handle security was Munich, Germany. Even though I was not in uniform (but had my badge), I was able to go through the special crew screening line (totally separate and through a special door) with my two bottles of wine that the Lufthansa flight attendants gave me as a gift to enjoy in France. Everyone in Germany was very cordial and had a very systematic, organized, and standardized method of operating. The same thing shows up in their cars - BMWs are precise, refined, nimble, and high-performing automobiles, just like their people.

As a screener this puzzles the hell out of me. 3.4 oz is the limit. Somebody calls a bagcheck and I have the check the size of the stuff. Everything is 3.4 oz. and less, but guess what it's not in a zip lock bag. So then I ask, what's the point of putting it into a zip lock bag is it less than the "danger limit"? My employeer once told the public that nothing less than 3.4 oz can cause problems. God I love being a TSA screener

It's called power tripping. Some people actually think that being a TSO we have some kind of power. Me.....I think otherwise.

But, the liquid ban was something started by the Brits due to the terrorist activity on their side of the ocean.....

Also, I get little discouraged when I hear people criticize (not you) the TSA for going after old ladies & babies, well, if the TSA after went after people that were a legitimate threat, the ACLU would have a field day & call that racial profiling...
