Well, after a 2 year hiatus from flying I finally soloed this last weekend. My first landing was good but my 2nd one I bounced 5 times and I was so rattled after that that I forgot to put my flaps up. I had to abort that take off but I calmed myself and my third take off and landing went off without a hitch. I also flew solo yesterday and it was cooler and much calmer...really a joy to fly in. A side note..I have around 33 hours and I know a lot of that was because it took me about 6 lessons to get back to where I was two years ago. Did any body else take that long to solo? |

Congratulations! One time my CFI made me take off with the flaps fully extended to show me how it would handle if I did the same thing on accident. It flew very strange, but it did fly, as long as you didn't get too scared and dump all the flaps at once.
