Default NEW! Reciprocal Nonrev for DL/NWA

Wow, they really think this merger's going to go off with out a hitch!

Quote:
Delta announced today that beginning May 6th, employees nonrevving on Northwest will travel for free and with a higher boarding priority. Comair employees will also be able to enjoy the reciprocal privileges on Northwest.

The change will take effect in two phases. The first will use existing interline paper ticketing processes, similar to Zonal Employee Discount (ZED) ticketing, which was implemented earlier this year. During the first phase, nonrev travel on Northwest will be ticketed at the Delta airport ticket counters. Comair employees may also utilize the Pass Bureau, located at the General Office in Cincinnati, for Northwest tickets. In the coming months, the process will become paperless and include self-service capabilities (i.e. Travelnet and kiosks). DCI carriers such as SkyWest and ASA are not eligable nor is Pinnacle for either DCI or Northwest.

That's nice.

Even after the DCI carriers who have been providing lift for over two decades was thrown under the bus this past fall and early spring.

I should have stayed! dang it.

Josh, Comair has always been lumped with mainline for pass benefits. ASA was too until they were sold.

Oh I'm very aware of how the pass benefits were years ago.

I actually miss giving up my 1989 senority under my father for my 2008 senority. . .

Question is, do you now have to pay the $50 fee? We could fly fee free on NWA, but on Delta we have to pay $50 a year to get in the system....even to jumpseat.

As of right now, only the guys on the Delta side of the flying get Delta bennies here. Ramp rumor is Pinnacle employees are gonna get Delta bennies system wide, but for some reason the pilots always seem to have a different benefits schedule than the rank and file. For example, we don't get on-time bonuses, but the rampers, CSAs and the rest do. That's probably more of a contract issue, but one of the GOOD things is the pilots have a different (cheaper and better) health insurance package. But I digress....

No word AFAIK of Pinnacle getting system wide Delta benefits.

Delta's always been strict on who gets Delta nonrev bennies at contracted companies. Per Delta, only pilots and personnel directly involved with that contrator's DCI operations are entitled to Delta nonrev bennies. They take the easy way out and give it to just the pilots. At Mesa it was easy because eveyone was split up into Mesa and Freedom, except MX Control, AOG Desk and materials. Since we supported both operations we we were able to get Delta bennies. I had HP, US, DL, and UA (which I had to pay .05/mile fee).

Comair has something good going for them - they're still wholly owned.

NWA does not have to pay the $50 fee until phase 2. We don't have PPR numbers.

Word from the pass bureau (which is one person, BTW) here is no company wide Delta benefits here. She said it's only for NWA, Delta and wholly owneds. Any word from the Mesaba or Compass guys if they're getting them? Comair being the only WO on the Delta side, I'm curious if the NWA WOs are getting the deal, too.

It's for employees of DL, NWA, and both companies wholly owned subsidiaries.
