Default Aircraft Rental in PHX area?

I am going to be in PHX next week and I'd like to rent an airplane to fly around the area a few times. Where is a place that I can rent a 172 or Warrior (Will have two pax) and not have to be checked out for 10 hours by one of their instructors?

Try Westwind at KDVT.

Try the Glendale airport it is on the northwest side of the city. It is a very nice airport, not as busy as DVT with all of the international flight training going on there

I don't know anyone here at Glendale that will let you rent airplanes. Maybe Goldcoast, but they only have one sitting out there that I see and it is a roached 172.

Falcon Exec at Falcon Field or Angel Air at Stellar get my vote. Falcon for older/cheaper, and Angel Air for nice/expensive/glass if you want.

I heard from others here at the field that Falcon Exec had to stop their flight training ops because they can't find any instructors. They have a pretty large fleet but I assume this means they won't be giving any more checkouts either.

Try Arizona Aviation (also at KFFZ) for a cheap 172.

Arizona Aviation is great for a relatively cheap rental. Bout 95ish an hour. 1 hour checkout.

Hm, I hadn't heard that about Falcon Exec, but it has been a while since I've been in PHX, and much longer since I was looking for planes to rent. Their website doesn't seem to show any signs of shutting down.. but who knows.

Great thanks for the help!

Looks like I have it narrowed down to Angel Air and Arizona Aviation.
