Default how to get proficient again

I got my Commercial rating a year ago, but I haven't been flying much since. I haven't recieve dual in about a year. I been doing the minimums to stay current, but not flying any more than that. The average flying is about an hour for every three months. How long will it take to get proficient at the commercial level, because I want to start my CFI and MEL.

I'd say about 10-15 hours to get proficient again.

Good luck

Flying the a/c won't really be much of an issue. You are current, I would assume. If not get that way, and then get your head back into the books. I would start working on your FOI which as I am sure you are aware, is psychology part of being a teacher. That will force you to start thinking about it in the sense of what you will be doing. It is also one of the written test that you will need to get taken care of. The other is FIA. I downloaded the Gleim CFI test prep material which includes both the FOI, and the FIA. It made taking those test easy, and I have been out of the air for 15 years.

So, I say get current, if not already, study and pass your tests, and then start the actual CFI work. Focus is all you need.

Good Luck
