| Old Skool | ![]() With gas north of $100 a barrel, there just isn't any business model that works. And no, don't say Southwest. They're hedging, which is great. But if oil stays where it is, even though they're hedged, the price they pay for oil will get higher. And at some point, even if they are fully hedged, that's not going to be enough. |

If under performing (and undercutting) carriers go tu, it could well lead to a situation that the remaining carriers no longer have competition and can charge an appropriate rate for their tickets. I don't really see the government getting involved in an anti-trust battle considering the state of the airlines post regulation. Of course, I could be wrong.....
