The certificate number is the identity of the operator. There is no such thing on a 121 aircraft (as far as I know), so I was wondering if it was illegal to change the only thing that gave the carrier its identity. Haven't had a chance to fly it since it got repainted, but I'm looking forward to the preflight and seeing a 10-foot tall picture of Danica. Quote:

Northwest had "Northwest Orient" painted on the sides of their planes for years, and even did all of their marketing under that name, but the official name of the airline never changed from Northwest Airlines.

Like I said, I have no idea how 121 works regarding those things. I do know that 135 operators must display their FAA issued operating certificate number in plain view, so I didn't know if 121 had similar regulations. I take it that Casey thought I was trying to play FAA (I didn't have the pleasure of reading the moderated comment), but in reality I was just trying to learn something.

They should change drivers and get some more money and exposure for their team instead of having a hottie behind the wheel. But I guess that is sexiest and shouldn't be based on driver ability.
Still a cool plane

I think it goes WAY beyond winning when it comes to Danica. They are competing very hard for viewers(especially against NASCAR), so what better way to sway viewers over then with her? The promotion they get just for having her behind the wheel is enough for people to not click past the race. I'm guilty, I didn't start watching until she came into the field, and now I watch all the time. |

I think as long as the N number is displayed, no one really cares. Just look at SWA's state flag planes and US Airways Carolina Panthers and Piedmont planes.
