Aye aye aye....I really should go back to the Coast Guard. Our message boards were fun, all jokes and SAR case stories.

Everyone needs to go have a beer and stop worrying about stuff you can't control.

Speaking of someone that could do something about this Doug should get an Oil executive to come to NJC this year. That would be fun!!

See that! Good ole intranet wars!

Its all doom and gloom everywhere you look anyway. I just got off the phone with my sim partner who was a Captain upgrade here. He says "Man, don't get all worked up over the hype on the internet. Beford wouldn't pull airplanes without having a place to park them. Just don't hold your breath this next week, you might pass out!"

I'm going to maximze my reserve time this week by doing some freshwater bass fishing.....aahhhh....

Reserve isn't knowing you have a 4 day 2 weeks in advance. Thats a built up line. I hate to say it but reserve is the "Good Morning, we have a trip for you..." phone call. Not "Hi, we built up your schedule and you have a 4 day in 2 weeks then a 3 day a couple days after that..." Its a flawed system. But we shouldn't be arguing about our trip trading and reserve systems when some of our brothers at Republic are being displaced from their homes. Maybe I will just always commute, that way if and when I get displaced it won't be that big of a deal...
I agree about the arguing...but someone on the Internet was wrong!!!!!!!!!! ...but we on the RAH side do not have that waiver that allows a green/green crew. Apparently we used to have it, but according to scheduling and the check airmen I've flown with, we no longer have it.

Involving the open time issue...here's the front page of PBS when I log in:

""CMH RW7 First Officers

At this time we are anticipating the need to with hold time for IOE. At this time we do not recommend that First Officers only bid for specific trips or to fly with the IOE Checkairmen. We may be withholding some of the pairings that are awarded to IOE Captains and later assign those to be used for IOE""

I've used open time, there's still plenty out there, we just won't be able to benefit from it much until our reserve availability gets built up. I've traded 2 trips for May out of open time.

I'd rather sit reserve for awhile longer then see our pilots get screwed.
I think he was talking about this:

Based on past post during your Colgan era, I sorta took this as complaining, too. If it wasn't meant that way, we can chalk it up to the downsides of internet forums and the fact that you can read about 801 different tones into a post.

We have that same thing on the Chautauqua PBS too. I don't really know how it works with the open time but I def. have my opinions on how I think it should work and this isn't it. My experience, although not much, has been bad with it because of this whole reserve staffing BS. Also my whole time on reserve I never flew a trip with an IOE captain and I had plenty of the trips that were awarded 2 weeks before the trip started.
Also I think our reserve on the 170 will get built up here pretty quickly unfortunately.

Thumbs down Re: No more Frontier flights for Republic

Well I must say that this is the first time that something like this has hit home for me. The instructor that I flew with for my instrument and commercial (over 2 years, we became really good friends) got hired by RAH. His class date was 4/20. Long story short 4/20, he was in STL, 4/25 he's back in Akron, picking up students to fly in the Seminole with. I don't even know what to tell him, I just feel so bad for him. This whole airline deal will really chew you up and spit you out. Back to the ole reciprocating engine for the time being it seems.

This whole recession deal is gonna be one long ride...

Wow, if that can be viewed as complaining, then this forum really does have way too much time on their hands. Geesh...where is the line between DRINKING COOLAID and COMPLAINING.

See ya, I'm off to the lake.

Hey man. I'm trying to help ya out and let you know where they guy's coming from. It's a well known fact that things can get misconstrued on internet forums based on tone. YOU know what you meant, but OTHERS might not.

We're seeing a LOT of "my regional is less crappy than your regional," and it's got the potential to get worse as things go on. I remember when this website used to be a nice big family. Now it seems like it's a nice big DYSFUNCTIONAL family with more fighting than the Hatfields and McCoys. We've lost some good input around here b/c people just get sick of the bickering. I don't go to FI for that reason, and I've got better things to do than sift through it on here as well.

We can go back and count the "Colgan Complaining" threads if ya want, but I don't have all day. You have to give us a break if we automatically jump to the conclusion that you're in a complaining mood based on past history.

I hear ya Kell.

When I said "My guess is that once those guys in DEN spread out through the system, we may see a slown. I may see more than a few months of reserve" , was merely meaning that I'm flying on reserve now, but that may slown down. Thats all. Nothing close to a complaint, just a fact. Now if I said "Oh now I have to sit reserve forever because of these DEN guys". Then that would be complaining. I don't mind reserve as long as I'm in PHL. The wife has a long honey-do list.

I have nothing to complain about here at RAH. Just a few worries about the current state of the industry, thats all.
