| So where will Comair be in all this? Some pilots think ground handling, others less than optimistic. Thoughts?

| Old Skool | You will see all of the feed carriers hurting and guys out on the street from these so called 'regionals'. Personally, I think it is going to be a bloodbath. Lots of qualified pilots out on the street. Make sure everyone has a current CFI! Comair will be hurt even more though. It is quite obvious which MEC is controlling the show here. And that particular MEC has quite a bone to pick with Comair for what their MEC did to that controlling MECs pilot group a few years ago. Hopefully with these mergers airlines can strengthen their scope clauses, in the end creating more mainline jobs.

| Agent Smith | I dunno, they MIGHT be ok, who knows. But one thing I will say is that NO ONE has any answers yet. People who profess that they unequivocally do probably don't. Hang tight, keep your heads up, enjoy the ride because you're already on it! ![]()

These are all questions that don't have answers. And because they don't have answers, it really doesn't help to worry about them. CMR could completly be shut down. CMR could get 80% of the DCI/AirLink (DeltaConnectionLink?) flying. Who knows.

| As long as my SIDA gets me in the door each day and I get my paycheck every other Friday, I could give a rats azz! ![]() All I know is RA was very ecstatic when he talked about Mesaba and Compass, but when it came around to Comair, he wasn't as ecstatic. Lets me know where I stand in the pecking order when the time comes!![]()

In speaking with two of our ALPA leaders they indicated that the Delta MEC also has no desire to help out Compass guys either. So, yeah - Comair, and Compass, appear to not be liked by the Delta MEC. Only time will tell

| Old Skool | Oh man. PT's PISSED about being beaten out by Mesaba and Compass as far as performance. But, ya know what? It's kinda hard to beat out Mesaba when they do our ground handling in DTW and MSP. I know we've got XJ guys on here, and it's definately not the pilots' fault, but I've seen some SERIOUS favoritism towards Mesaba flights in MSP/DTW lately. It's gotten supremely bad since Mesaba became a wholly owned. I don't know if something is coming down from management or what. It's been brought to NWA's attention (they get to pick who does our ground handling in DTW and MSP), and their response was "Make it work. You don't get anyone other than Mesaba." So, that's one issue. The other main issue is management seems to live in an ivory tower and not really know what's going on day-to-day here. I think we might have better employee relations if PT or one of his immediate advisors would spend a week working on the front lines. I'm not talking slinging bags for ONE flight then saying you're the next coming of Herb Kelleher, I'm talking some serious time in the trenches so you can get a feel of what's going on. SWA has a great connection with its employees mainly b/c Colleen made a point to get out to every station and see what was going on. THAT'S what you have to do.

| Old Skool | You can be damn sure that the NWA guys are going to be trying to convince everybody that the Compass seniority numbers are actually NWA numbers. That way when they combine the lists the percentages will work out much better for them. |

| Old Skool | ASA has the same issues coming out of Comair stations. Go figure. Quote:
![]() I'm sure the NWA side of the coin is going to be trying to convince a lot of people about a lot of things. Really don't know how to feel about any of it to be honest.

The same could be said for all express carriers (DL, US, UA, NWA, and so on).I know in Orlando we did go out of our way when working with CHQ. I liked working with them more than our own flight crews. Of course everyones screwed when its a DL run station with DL and DCI flights! ![]()

| Old Skool | Yup, you're right. ![]() No need for that, it's just the way it is. I wouldn't expect anything less in this dog eat dog industry. What's a scam, and an absolute shame, is that our respectable companies do not have the appropriate funds to properly staff the stations we fly to. It's a joke, no reason ANY of the jobs need to be contracted out to some other company. Then again, I'm an extremely pro-labor kind of guy, and I think it would be an amazingly great thing to have an increase jobs in some of these small cities we fly into. Instead of contracting it out to Airline X, Y or Z. Plus, that takes the "Ah man, I'm a CMR guy and have to work an ASA flight. . .Yeah, I'm going to work hard now? Not." |

| 1. i'm glad i'm not bitter in my job (yet) 2. i've got such a weird view of the whole thing. on one side i hope CMR stays afloat and I work my way up the career ladder, because i really do love this job. on the other hand something in me hopes CMR goes belly up and i'm out on the street. i want to go back to school soooo bad sometimes. just riding the wave and making the best of whatever happens i guess. in the end i just hope something happens that leads to the betterment of our industry. |

| Old Skool | Where? I was under the impression daddy Delta took all of our ground services and outsourced it to either, Delta Services, or another DCI operator. |

| Old Skool | We run the ground services out of those locations? I know we do out of our maintenance bases, but that makes sense of course. How many of those locations does Comair come into, that they do not have their own services? |

| Yes, ASA runs pretty much everything at those locations. Out of those locations, Comair only goes to VPS, MYR, TUL, TRI, AVL, and BTR. As far as the rest Comair has 46 stations; 47 if you count CVG. All the rest of our destinations are handled by DL, DGS, or other contracted ground service provider.
