| Re: Cross Country Advice Ditto on the daytime into and out of SEZ. Not only is the view beautiful, but that is one place you might not want to visit for the first time on approach at night.
You'll understand....

| Re: Cross Country Advice Thanks for the help everyone. I am on the balcony in the hotel in Sedona right now, the view is breath taking. I decided it would be safer for us to fly into Flagstaff and drive half an hour vs going into Sedona. I figured my first flight into the mountains probally should not be into such a hard airport and with the load we have the Conquest does not climb very well. The drive down from Flagstaff to Sedona is really pretty.
We are here for two nights, then we spend two nights in the Paris hotel in Vegas, and then one in San Diego, and then I have to get home for school! I will have plenty of pictures next week. The tail number is N505AK if anyone wants to follow me along.
Thanks,
Alex. |

| Re: Cross Country Advice Here are a few teaser shots for you from Sedona. We took helicopter tour today through the canyons, it was awesome. These photos were taken with my little camera, so they are not as good as the ones I'll upload when I get home. The pictures don't really do it justice anyway:
This is the view from my hotel room
And this is after taking off out of Sedona
We will be heading into Vegas tomorrow morning. I am going to file KFLG - GCN -KVGT and see if they'll let us head over the Grand Canyon and then to Vegas.

| Re: Cross Country Advice Thanks "sdfcvoh" & "Citationkid" for the SEZ/Sedona pics.
I plan to fly out to SEZ May 9th in a Diamond DA-40. I need to build some X-country hrs before I begin my IFR training next month.
This will be my first "real" X-country outside of my VFR training. I'm going to plan on arriving at SEZ in the morning before the winds pick up.
I always wanted to fly into SEZ after watching the King Schools VFR DVD training course where they have a aircraft to aircraft video clip of a airplane on a low approach over the numbers at SEZ.
I am quite excited! |
