True. They do keep busy during the summer months. But I think their tour numbers are gonna drop. Especially if the likes of Holland America stick with Pro-Mec and their twotters out of Skagway. Plus it seems like half their fleet is sitting in Haines with missing parts.

I refer to the cruisers as the White Shoe Brigade

He bolded "our group," probably wondering what you meant by that, and not so much in price-defenders. I could be wrong.

Not sure if you know or not, but I think Chris Ford doesn't have the ability to post here for the time being.

Was it that confusing?

Ah, well. . .then "our group" meant those of us who have usernames and regularly view and post on Jetcareers.

Mike, anything else you'd like me to clear up?

I see. . .I wasn't trying to cliqueify anything. . .just that I call the whole JC population "our group" as we all have at least one thing in common - JetCareers.

Sorry it caused some heartburn.

you said get back ON the gold standard. i quoted Bernanke making a statement saying the gold standard isn't the answer, as shown from history of the Great Depression. so, I'm neither quoting you or looking for a response. just showing that someone much more wise than any of us in things such as these has said the Gold standard isn't the answer. thats all. i still can't believe i read Businessweek, but it was either that or Ok magazine. why do sooooo many passengers read those stupid gossip magazines anyway?

You must have missed Bernanke's insistence that he not address currency issues during his last testimony?

He can say whatever he wants about the gold standard, but it negates what he says if only minutes later he states that he is not going to address currency issues.

The guy is the Chairmen of the Federal Reserve (which is a scam anyways), and he won't discuss currency issues? Such as our weakening dollar, and he also has not recommended anything in regards to supporting it. But yet they'll support a Sunday approval for a buy-out of a company that traded at >$20 on a Friday, but will be bought at $2 on Monday morning?

The Fed is the most backwards organization I've ever seen.

Gotta agree with Surreal. But, then I personally feel that a nation should both print, own and control it's own currency. And not be at the whim of an international banking consortium.

Call me crazy.

Central banks=bad!
