Most likely EVERYWHERE. But what airlines do you believe will have major interest. Maybe a charter airline or 2? My uneducated guess is that the biggest interest will be in Europe.

I think Continental would be interested in acquiring some more 757-300s. They are good for domestic routes that need more capacity then the 737s. Maybe they could use more 737s as well. They just ordered a bunch though.

| Old Skool | Hahaha Sean, it was annouced late September 06, a few delivered in 07 with more to come through out the years to replace their 727 fleet. Actually, it was a conspiracy by FedEx to ruin ATA to get more 757s

I think us here at JC will put our money into a pot-luck and purchase one of ATA's jets.

At least on paper, the fleet transfered over to world airways the same night ata announced it stopped ops. World of course is a another company under the Global Aero Logistics umbrella, along with north Amercian airlines.

I wonder if we'll see some of those ETOPS 737-800s here at Alaska. . . .

North American also flies 757s so they have a training and MX program there to take those airplanes. I'd say the -200s will either be in North American or FedEx colors. CAL may take the 4 -300s they took a bunch the last time ATA got rid of airplanes. Either them or a European charter airline. The 737-800's no idea, probably out of this country. CAL already has a bunch on order, maybe they could pull an airframe swap with Boeing or a leasing company, but I'd doubt that they would want more -800s.

Isn't Delta supposed to have some 737-800s on order? Might be cheaper to snag the used ATA ones.....

Didn't DAL dump a bunch of 737-800 line slots for 787 positions?

| Newbie | No they didn't. We aren't taking the DC-10's because TZ's pilots go with the planes and we have enough to deal with because of TZ-ALPA saying that they have a right to come bump our pilots. If the company is smart they will let the planes fall off TZ's operating certificate and go back to the lessor, WO could then re-lease the planes if we wanted to and avoid having to take TZ's pilots. I for one just want to see them parked and stay parked. We can't crew what we have now, the last thing we need is more DC-10's .

| Old Skool | ATA's are RR engined and DL's birds are Pratt powered. It would be another engine program that they would have to worry about. So probably not. Then again they have 2 engine programs on their 767-300ERs.

| Senior Member | You think they'll keep 2 types of engines, or refit to one type?

Also Delta used to be rabid about having similar engine types, but now with all of the exposure they've had with mixed-engine fleets I think it's much less of an issue. Again, all my opinion and based on no known facts... Kevin

Interesting. Our muckity-mucks refitted every thing with GE since they thought it was cheaper. This whole "You can choose your engines" big airplane world is so confusing.... Although I'd trust DAL beancounters over ours....

They can't swap out those GE's on the LR. Boeing only has one engine choice on the LR's that being the big ole GE's!
