| So over the past couple of days, i did a cross country to Daytona beach on the Seneca with a MEI. I am just wondering if it is a good idea to go ahead and get my multi-commercial, or just get my commercial in the single then do the multi addon after. I figured i should go and get my multi-commercial since i now have some multi time under my belt.. This question was probably asked a dozen time before so please bare with me. I am new and still stupid. Thanks much! |

| I hope you are not paying for that trip. Straight and level flying has little value in training. Commercial / instrument first, then multi. |

| I already have the instrument ticket and about 50 hours shy of my commercial. There are a couple of guys who did their commercial multi from my flight school and they all recommended it. Besides getting some multi time is a good gig, seeing as how the minimums now are atleast 50. |

My suggestion would be to get the commercial in the single unless you're not going to get your CFI or do any commercial work in a single. Most companies like to see a CFI added onto your ticket when interviewing. I know it's appealing to go and get the multi comercial right away, but going through the long process will pay of in the long run..

| I got my multi-commercial first. Added the single commercial later.

anyway get your CSEL first, then the multi add on, it would be cheaper in the long run.

Maybe I should give up my airline job and go back to instructing, 'til I figure it out.
