I was in PR for about six months and ran into IBC guys on a constant basis.... from what I understand IBC only hits the northern portion of the caribbean with grand cayman being as far south as they go. Metro's are alright..... if you want into the Saab its a "pay for your own type" or "pay to play" program. I have heard that they try to staff the metro's with an FO for the longer legs but have witnessed otherwise.... maybe they just can't attract FO's with what they are offering for pay..... especially if you have to live in the Miami area. I would say contact IBC directly for info.... or someone who works there. No CASS or jumpseats.

Mountain Air.... operates C208's and one or two F27's.... with hopes of bringing ATR's into the picture when the F27's go away.... unless you have the time they require good luck.... they are pretty strict about mins. but the pay is pretty good. No CASS or jumpseats that I know of.

Skyway Air Cargo, Roblex, and M&N Aviation operate SD3-60's out of PR....M&N also operates 1900's... pay is low for all..... Skyway and Roblex have pretty quick upgrades right now.... but it may not stay that way.

Air Tahoma and IFL operate Convairs out of BQN.... both employ local guys at the moment.... toss an app in if you want... good luck... pay is okay at these companies.

Corporate Air operates a couple of E-120's out of BQN too.... stay away.... sinking ship is my opinion.... PM if you want other details.

Fourstar Cargo operates DC-3's out of SJU... could be fun..... but be careful they have been struggling...

Air Flamenco and Vieques Air Link do VFR 135 work out of SJU.... gonna be stuck on a BN-2 Islander..... year contract last I heard.... pretty low pay.

Amflight is out of SJU and BQN (they took my old companies routes when we got the boot) good pay but they do tend to attract everyone else's experienced pilots..... you can ask Amflight guys about their company... I don't know a whole lot.

If anyone can think of anyone else or see an error in my post.... shout it out. But seriously dude.... if you want to get a job down there you really need to do the research and it helps if you know someone..... like IFL for example.... there is almost no way for you to get a spot there unless you know the current pilots when they are leaving and if they reccomend you.... enough of these jibber jabber... good luck and watch out for the hurricanes this summer bros!

I don't know about the FO thing... I have attempted to email my resume and also even talked to an HR rep and no one has even called back. However, I would still love the opportunity to fly the metro or saab from South Florida.

As of recently one of my former captains is now at IBC and confirms that they employ FO's.... I don't know what your times and experience looks like.... but that may be the reason they haven't responded... I mean they do want to fill the seats but at the same time they do want people who can make it through training (which wasn't a cakewalk for me and I have heard the same from others) and upgrade within a reasonable amount of time ie. 1 year. When you get enough posts shoot me a pm and I will see if I can get you in contact with someone who works there.

I also heard through the grapevine that they will be recieving 3 Saabs in the next few months.... which would develop a need for pilots..... or so I would think..... they might just be replacements.

Actually Caribbean is doing much better than BWIA, and I don't think the business plan is the same as what it once was. The end of Bwee was Trinidad admiting defeat, in my opinion.

Thank God the CEO (at the time) told them that there was nothing else they could do except end the airline and start a new one. The Trinidad market is vital indeed, so not having an airline was out of the question.

As for LIAT, I continually shake my head on that one. They merged with CStar because R. Allen Stanford was smart and pulled out.

CAL has yet to turn a profit. The Govt is giving them until the end of the year and of course they are saying that they are on track. So if you mean they are doing much better than BeeWee by losing "less" money, well i guess you're right...

LIAT I hope is making a profit, because a round trip ticket from Grenada to St. Maarten the other day was $500US. That's with a few stops and total flight time of about 2 :30 in a Dash8

In case anyone is interested SVG is hiring right now for Islander, C402, Aero Commander, and Twotter Captains. You can find their posting on climbto350.com. Otherwise PM me and I will give you the email address that you will need.

Nope...last I heard LIAT was still losing money, but you should expect that when the merger just took place.
