Advice on making big decisions

I'm currently employed at a 135 operator flying Twin Otters. It's all SIC time for now, and 98% Day VFR. I like the flying, and the people I work with, but have only been flying 20 hours a month and I'm just barely making it by financially.

I just got an email from American Eagle asking me to come in for an interview, and now I am already starting to think about having to leave some job security for something "unknown". I do realize that I can't get that worked up about it until I get a job offer from AE, but I just want to look ahead. I won't be 23 for another year and a half, so I'll be stuck in the right seat at LEAST until then. I have already been thinking about how impossible it will be to do another winter here, both flying wise and money wise, so I will probably move on somewhere at the end of summer anyways.

Would you guys recommend that I stick around during the summer flying the Otter? Or take the chance and go interview for the hell of it?

Why stop at one interview.
Eagle peoples correct me but upgrade at Eagle is running-what? 5-7 years?

The way you've written this sentence is a little confusing. You CAN still keep your current job and interview for a new one, correct? Or must you resign your job to make it to the interview?

My philosophy at your age and stage of the game was to always take the next job that furthered my career goals. Sometimes that meant taking risks with unstable companies and new positions that I knew would only last for a short time. At your age, I think you are able to bounce around a little bit. Build experience and experiences. You may have to move backwards or laterally at some stage over the next few years.

My parents had very stable...economy proof jobs...and I never saw career instability in my parents work. So, entering the aviation field was very unsettling to see the inherent volatility that is omnipresent.

At some point in time I realized that my career in aviation was going to be a journey...and I've sure enjoyed all the people I've met, planes I've flown and places I've been to.

I think Scenic operates under 121...?
