Usually the type of college and your ambition will govern your attitude towards these type of things...

Where?
What do you want to do?

Make college the best four years of your life...Have fun! No need for the head bashing icon. You will love college. In a couple months when you are living with all your new buddy's, getting wasted and trying to get laid, you will think back and say "all those 18 year old who skipped this to fly for the regionals really are the suckers".

Best advice I could give you...Have fun, but remember the bar will always be there tomorrow. Just like the airplanes. There will be a thousand other partys...If you have to miss one because of a test so be it.

ohhhh the days...Your weekend starts a day early on Thursday, and you only have to make it to $2 dollar Tuesday to start again. Why did I ever graduate hehe.

Good choice to make, now you will have something to fall back on if aviation doesn't work out for you.

Congratulations on making the right choice. I didn't go to college right after high school and I wish I did. It's a lot harder to get into once your life actually begins. Make the most of it and figure out who you really are.

I made college the best 5 years of my life. Some of my friends made it the best 6 or 7 years. And that was just for a Bachelors.

Good luck in college. Its an awesome time. you won't regret it.

Go for it. You're only young once. Going to college at your age is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Never again will you have the opportunity to be surrounded by so many people in a setting that is conducive to learning on an academic and social level.

I haven't flown a plane in 6 years, I've taken time off from flying and my career to deal with my kids while they're very young. It's hard to put career ambitions 'on hold' for a while sometimes, but airplanes will always be there for me (and you!) to fly.

Enjoy it! Live it!

I was at MTSU this year, and withdrew.

I think im going to go to ETSU and get some kind of business degree.

I will still be working on my ratings at a local FBO.

First of all, congrats on the decision.

Second of all, enjoy your college experiences.

and lastly, make sure you know what you really want. They say it's great to be undecided because it allows you to find out who you are and what you want...well theres a price to that. You'll end up switching majors, taking more classes because the chemistry courses aren't part of the art major, and you'll spend more $$$ than you originally wanted. I don't want to rain on your parade, but I made this indecisive mistake and it's really not worth it. Just wanted to pass this down to you.

Achieve your dreams, and enjoy the process! Just my $0.02

Drew, I say this with all possible sincerity: good call.

I left college around the second semester of my freshman year and I never went back. Tried once, but it just didn't take.

Now, in my 30s, I really, really wish I had stayed/gone back.

I've had a good career, I make very good money in my field, and I'm comfortable. But I lack some education that I would like to acquire. Most of my friends have advanced degrees, and it's going to be a requirement for any sort of serious commercial piloting in my future, if I choose that route.

It's the one and only regret I have.

You're making the right decision. I wish you all success in this endeavor.

First of all: great decision!

Second: take at least one class, if not more, that are just interesting and not necessarily part of the requirements on your major track. You are only in college once. That time of social and academic growth is very short. Good luck, study hard, but mostly enjoy it!!
