Eagle was on the local news last night.

Anyone in the DFW area catch it on Channel 8? They had some guy on there who claimed to be a "safety investigator", and he was talking about how unsafe it is to have 400 hour pilots in the right seat, due to the strain it puts on the Captain.

Yeah I watched it last night.

.... apparently all FO's at Eagle are unqualified to fly at the "commuter airlines."

To an extent - I'm glad they brought up the fact that the standards have dropped but it certainly discredited a lot of FO's at eagle.

I wish they brought up the pay scale for FO's at "commuter airlines" - that would have explained the situation pretty well.

On that note - anyone see the latest vacancy bid @ eagle? Interesting to say the least.

Networks or somebody must have dropped that one in the affiliates' local interest story basket a few weeks back. We had the same story here a few weeks focused on Pinnacle, although it also did name the airlines that are hiring with a wet commercial.

They did mention that FO's get less than 30k a year, which is why they dropped their minimums.

While it's a one-sided story, it'll pass and life will go on.

Not right now. Not when they are hiring 400 hr. pilots. I'm surprised they're not paying less.

But, things can change. Whether they will or not is anyones guess.

So did they fail to report that there is a captain in the cockpit as well like the other story we have seen recently about low time pilots? Yes low time FO's don't have the knowledge, but a 2000-4000 hour captain will help easy the minds of the people in the back. If they don't mention the captain all they do is try to scare people form flying with AE.
