My first post was:
Hey everyone. When people say I completed something part 61 or so. What does all the parts mean?

It's in the yellow and grey version of jetcareers.com forum. I still like the way that forum looked.

Something about asking if 31 was too old. Now I am 33. That is definitely too old.

AND my user name has been deleted with pretty much every software change.

You'd think I'd get the hint.

But, to answer the question:

I haven't the slightest idea. It was almost (gasp!) seven years ago. HOLY SHEEP CRAP BATGIRL!!

I think it was in the "squawk box" (now the lav) - to argue with a guy ironically named Eagle..... (I say "ironically" because......I.......work.....for a company.....called......Eagle.......... *cricket......cricket......cricket.......* )

Hmmm...first one was a long one. AME I went to was a little out of practice and deferred my medical when he didn't need to. MyFlightSurgeon gave me good info and put my mind at ease and all is well. Only going to MFS from now on!

1st class medical deferred.

I am planning on starting ATP's career airline pilot program (ppl plus all) but to start I need to get a class 1 medical. Went to get that bad boy today but the doc told me he had to 'defer' it and...

I have no idea.

It was sometime in July of 2003, just after our first baby was born and just shy of a year after the start of my second furlough.

I was pretty quiet on the forums my first few months here. I wanted to sit back and "listen" for a while before speaking up. I remember after "outing" myself and telling who I was and what my work history was MikeD asked a couple pointed questions to see if I really was what I said I was. The Tomcatter episode happened when I was fairly new here, so I think everyone was kind of on a 'poser hunt. Thankfully, I'm not a liar so I passed all the tests.

Complete opposite for me. I didn't do any listening and was always getting in arguments (about flying) with guys who were already in the profession while all I had was a couple thousand hours on flight sim. Been here almost as long as Amber though. Sure goes by fast.

Eagle vs. Chunk is what spawned my original interest in these forums. On that note, what ever happened to those guys?

My first post was carved in stone, the premier writing surface of the day, but was ultimately destroyed by a rampaging herd of wooly mammoths and lost to history.

Chunk popped in to hello last fall. --> (Howdy!)

I wonder what my early posts were. In 2001 I was getting my private and researching commercial & CFI training for early 2002; I imagine most of my posts were related to that. I am pretty sure my join date was 9/10/01.

... with not a clue as to the magnitude of events that would happen just the very next day. Kind of strange to think that here you started posting on Jetcareers and things are hunky-dory (can't believe that phrase just came to mind), and that the next day would be just any other ordinary day.

I don't remember what my first post was, but it was on or around Nov 29, 2002 when I registered. Looking through old posts/threads started to see how far back the archives go certainly brought back some memories.

I googled "Jetcareers Windchill" to see if anything older would come back, but all that came up was my profile and one post--my "Windchill's Back!" post after returning from my honeymoon. Interestingly enough Doug said I had just transitioned from "When are you getting married?" to "When are you having kids?" ...

... well, here I am married almost four years with child number two due ~ 7 weeks

... where does the time go???

Too late. Does this look infected? Maybe I'll spread some of that mango salsa from Costco on it. Yikes, I think I just blew through two threads!!!

it's actually a lot easier than that...if you go to your profile and look under "find my posts", then go to the very last one, that should be your first post!

EDIT: i guess you can't....hmmmmm....weird! I thought the database saved everything but maybe not.

Naw, I tried a while ago to find some of my old/original posts and I couldn't go back farther than like 3 years or something like that.

My user name goes back to '04. But something happened in one of the software changes, in reality it was maybe '01 or earlier. Not sure...
